| What camera? | 10 Dec 2003 07:57 GMT | 15 |
Currently shooting far too many films with my Pentaxs I feel I might spread into Digital, just to try and reduce processing costs!! Not wanting / able to spend a fortune, whay camera would be good for around the ?400 mark - second hand presumably, and as close to SLR as posible.

| Nikon 5700 lens fault "Lens Error"? | 09 Dec 2003 20:09 GMT | 3 |
I bought this as a used buy from the UK company, Jessops, about 6 weeks ago. I am new to photography, and I put some problems down to user error, but now I am not so sure... The camera would often return out of focus images, seemingly at random, even of the same shot, tripod

| Canon EF Lens (USM or not?) | 07 Dec 2003 20:16 GMT | 1 |
I'm looking to buy my first additional lens for my Canon 300D and I was hoping somebody could tell me whether the USM drive on Canon lenses was significantly better than the standard micromotor approach. I understand that USM is smoother, faster and quieter - but is it worth

| Nikon DigiCam repairs in Portsmouth area? | 06 Dec 2003 07:23 GMT | 3 |
I wonder if anybody could recommend me a repairer for my Nikon CoolPix 880 in the Portsmouth area? I've got the dreaded "System error" and the lens is stuck out. I think the lens motor may have busted :-(. Thanks.

| Canon UK? | 06 Dec 2003 07:04 GMT | 8 |
Does anyone have the email address for Canon UK? I would like to take advantage of their present "cashback offer" on a camera but even after waiting for over a month now, my local Canon agent can't get qualifying stock. Just want to ask them what's going on as the offer ends soon!

| Waterproof Clothing - slightly OT | 05 Dec 2003 14:53 GMT | 4 |
I'm looking for some waterproof trousers for nature photography - I don't want a pair of overtrousers rather trousers that can be worn on their own. I've investigated paramo but they're not really suitable as the water comes through if they become immersed e.g you kneel in a puddle.

| Matters of Newsgroup Security | 04 Dec 2003 10:41 GMT | 1 |
Forgive the dramatic title, but things around here are getting increasingly tense. There is something of a 'net Cold War going on, with a certain paranoia about who is posting what and if they are *in fact* who they say they are. Now people are paying a more-than-passing ...

Anyone seen the latest issue yet? I usually end up getting mine from WHSmiths around the first or second week of the month, but haven't seen one on the shelves yet. Is it out yet, or has my local WHS just stopped selling it (was

| Suggestions for high-quality scanning at low cost? | 02 Dec 2003 19:05 GMT | 1 |
At the moment I can't afford to buy a PC and scanner. My ideal solution would be to have my films made into Kodak Photo CD's - the quality's superb and according to Kodak's own website, a 24 exposure film can cost as little as $24 to do.
