WTD:Fuji S602Pro or Nikon CP5700, UK
Just sold my trustly Olympus C40z, and want to use for astronomy in place of webcam (plus higher
qwuality terrestrial photos).
Would hope for either machine C/W Microdrive and remote shutter release cable as minimum.
Review of *ist D in this week's AP29 Sep 2003 23:20 GMT7
It looks pretty good, all in all- some of the sample shots taken look
stunning. They even gave it a trial with some old K-mount lenses and
bellows... however the reviewer also indicated an intermittant exposure
problem across several samples, so hopefully that will be ironed out and ...
Minolta battery packs29 Sep 2003 11:43 GMT6
I picked up a Dimage S414 a while back. It's fun, but exhausts
rechargable batteries in no time flat.
I was looking at rechargable battery packs -- Minolta's EBP-100 battery
pack is around £180, which ain't far of the price of the camera!
Canon EOS 300D29 Sep 2003 10:42 GMT9
Just got my 300D yesterday. It is fantastic for the money. The quality of
the pics are amazing and the rapid continous shooting is brilliant for a 6mp
digital, it really means you can get natural photos of your kids instead of
the 'cheesy smile' look!
Help needed with good processing lab, Jessops not good27 Sep 2003 11:27 GMT11
I have just returned from Jessops with 8 sets of prints from a recent
holiday. I paid the extra and went for their Diamond laser service,
but almost all of the shots have a very artificial look to them as if
they've been through a sharpening filter in photoshop. The pictures

I have a Nikon F65 with the following lens, all of which are more or less
the cheapest currently available in that range.
Sigma 17-35mm
Nikor   28-105mm
Request for info on Nikon Vs Fuji cams.25 Sep 2003 14:13 GMT1
Specifically the Nikon 5700 Vs the Fuji S602 Pro.
Use will be astronomical, attached to a telescope. I need low noise, long exposures, with good zoom
factors & high ISO ratings, a remote control facility, and finally, a threaded lens area for
attaching to the scope.
My Eye in Brazil24 Sep 2003 11:30 GMT1
This message to let you I have updated My Eye with a new gallery (in the
Elsewhere section) dedicated to the Costa do sol (north part of the shore in
the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) which doesn't carry very well its name
at this time of the year. Here is a sample :
Nikon Lens warranty card - question23 Sep 2003 17:26 GMT3
Just bought a 70-300 AFD lens.
Should there be the usual multi-part yellow warranty slip included or have
Nikon dropped these (I've not bought any new Nikon stuff for a year).
Is it significant if this is not included ?
E6 Processing London23 Sep 2003 12:32 GMT5

a Saturday evening in London?
Thanks
Giclee printing...23 Sep 2003 03:09 GMT4
As far as I can see a Giclee is one done by a top-end inkjet printer.
Is there a standard that this printer has to adhere to in order for a print
to call itself a giclee.  For example, can I print an image using an Epson
2100 and call it a giclee?
Book advice - Roger Antrobus, or any others you recommend on selling?22 Sep 2003 15:41 GMT1
Does anyone here have the book 'Photographs that Sell and Sell' by Roger
Antrobus?
What do you think of it?
Is it any good, or just a rehash of already available info? Actually, that's
what is this tla22 Sep 2003 12:25 GMT5
Folks, I notice that quite often I see "WTD" in the group.  What does this
TLA stand for?

35mm slide and print films for Landscapes22 Sep 2003 11:42 GMT10
I'm just getting back into photography after a long break and would like to
ask the opinion of the group members on 35mm slide and print film for
landscape, nature and architectural photography.  I used to use Kodachrome
64 for slides 20 years back because I found Fuji 50 "over the ...
