Which Canon?28 Jul 2003 19:34 GMT2
Just changing from Pentax to Canon. Most of my photos are of motorsport or
of hill walking so camera must be robust, light, ( an impossible
contradiction?) and a degree of water resistance is desirable.
Which model in their range, preferably SH, should I look for?

Best SLR for 300 UKP24 Jul 2003 19:39 GMT1
I was thinking about getting the Nikon F75, but now I'm not so sure.
Is this a good buy for the money, or is the Canon EOS 300V a better buy?
What about the Minolta Dynax 800Si?
Is it worth the extra to buy a Pentax *ist?

Ilford or Jessops?23 Jul 2003 20:41 GMT2
I've got an Ilford Delta 400 B&W film to develop that I
pushed to 1600 (to see how it works, after pushing to 800
turned out really good results...). Should I take the safe
route and post to Ilford or ... trust it to my local

Apart from the excellent, but slightly expensive, Kodak service for

Quiet EOS Body21 Jul 2003 08:43 GMT3
Have and EOS 3 but want to do some golf pictures soon but i feel that it may
be to noisy. Can anyone suggest an EOS body which is very quiet. I was
thinking that the EOS 30/33 or EOS 50/55 might be good. I would rather go
for the 50 as it is a lot cheaper and will only normally be ...
5000 dpi neg scanners20 Jul 2003 22:51 GMT5
I note Minolta (IIRC) have brought one out already.  I am considering
getting a Canoscan.  Are there any rumours they are to upgrade that to a
higher DPI spec than the current 4000 as if so I will hang on for a bit
longer?
7dayshop Compactflash?20 Jul 2003 20:01 GMT2
Has anyone any bad experiences with the CF cards 7dayshop sell? Speed is not
too much of an issue for me, as I plan to buy an E10 which seems to be
rather slow in the writing department anyway.
Are there other (inexpensive) Compactflash cards approx. 256 or 512

good starter camera?
TIA
Should I set up a studio? - advice please.18 Jul 2003 13:26 GMT3
Hi there, I'd like some comments and/or advice please.
I'm just about to move into a property I owned with my wife before we
separated. Basically, it's two houses that were converted from a workshop
and has been let to housing association tenants. I only need a reasonable
Free software to mess around with digicam pics ?18 Jul 2003 00:05 GMT1
I know there's a lot of free stuff out there to enhance pics taken with
digital cameras, but are there any good ones on which i can view (in real
time) enhancements to the picture whilst moving the various sliders
(brightness, contrast, etc). I know some programs do this, but either ...
Has photosig gone?17 Jul 2003 16:42 GMT1
Just tried to get to www.photosig.com and couldn't find it. Have they
folded?
Does anyone have any good sites for critique based photo albums. I enjoyed
the photosig concept at first, until they got too huge and your photos fell
