A simple and probably stupid question. Can I use the same type of
filters which I used with both black & white film and colour with a
digital camera? (Canon EOS 350D).

just brought a s5500 camera and wondered what the best way of taking a wide
angle(1x) and a tele shot(10x) of the stars would be.
with a wide angle i was thinking iso400 with a 15sec exposure but what

I recently bought a zoom camera. Its got a smallish rectangle shape at
the center of the viewfinder and the corner lines of a large rectangle
slightly in from the top left corner. I'm not sure how to position the
view when taking normal shots and zoom shots.
