I've been trying to do a lot of concert photography lately. I use a Nikon N65 with a Sigma 28-80mm lense with 800 film. A lot of my phots turn out very grainy. I use either 1/30 or 1/60 shutter speed, and 5.6 f-stop. I try to only shoot when there's good light on stage / the ...

At what shutter speed and/or focal length is mirror bounce a concern when using a tripod so that mirror lockup needs to be used? I noticed when shooting how the viewfinder would "bounce" even on a tripod when shooting last week...

people say the 18% grey point on a characteristic curve should be 0.745 units lower from the brightest exposure point in the Log Exposure axis. that's because 0.745 = Log(100%/18%). I think this is right and I can still figure out there is 2.5 stops
