I'm looking for tips on photographing large groups (30-40 people) indoors in
a conference room / hotel type setting.
I am using either Nikon film SLR or possibly DSLR.  My main concern is

When shooting brown or darker-skinned female models, what type and color of

I was asked by a neighbour to take pictures of her daughter and friends at
their upcoming prom.  The photos will be taken in the late afternoon outside
in front of an old barn.  There is lots of shade if sunny, lots of pretty
flowers great backgrounds and color.
color temp for halogens12 Mar 2004 00:59 GMT4
I have a few halogen shop lights that I am thinking about using for some
portrait work (background, hairlight) and I am curious if this is a good

In one case I want to use them in my studio, which would be a combination of

I'm trying to make a black and white image from a color file.  Am I better

Thanks in advance

Hi, I was hoping for some suggestions (i.e. filters or exposure
control) for photographing a couple with very differing skin tones.
How can I keep the lighter subject from being washed out or conversly
the darker from being underexposed when using various filters.  I
