Going digital with Cameta?25 Aug 2005 03:07 GMT5
Dear community,
now that I have decided to step into the digital era, I wonder where to
best buy my first digital Nikon body.
After months of watching, reading reviews and checking my own needs I
NH photograph24 Aug 2005 00:36 GMT2
We just bought a place in the White Mountains region of NH, and I've
been looking for places to photograph wildlife, flowers, et.al.  Does
anyone have any suggestions?  I've been to Kirkwood Gardens in
Holderness and even hired a guide to find some moose (unsuccessful).

Fall Color on the North Rim22 Aug 2005 16:56 GMT2
I'm planning a trip to the north rim of the Grand Canyon mainly to shoot
fall color.  I was over there a couple of weeks ago and among other things,
I was amazed at the quantity of aspen, and that makes me expect some serious

drive on a logging road) so we'll have a vehicle.  We'll be shooting
mostly medium format film but will also have digital gear and a laptop
raw challenge v.3.010 Aug 2005 12:36 GMT2
We have just started a new edition of our RAW challenge, just for fun.
What is the game about? Download the RAW file, postprocess it, retouch
it, boil it, add salt and pepper and finally show us what you have done
with it. Just for the fun of it.
avoiding red eye when photographing owls07 Aug 2005 19:05 GMT6
Anyone using fill flash on large owls and *not* getting red-eye?  I've
found the early AM pet roosting spot for a Great Horned Owl and two of
its large chicks but it's almost directly back-lit from the only spot I
can shoot from, so I need fill flash.  I can get them full frame with
Wildflower Paparazzi05 Aug 2005 16:15 GMT12
Just returned from photographing wildflowers in Colorado, and I find
myself, for the first time, very unhappy with an aspect of photography
that seems to assume carte blanche to trash the environment just
because we carry cameras.  Probably the best example is American
