I was in the biggest photo dealer in Scotland yesterday, asking if Velvia 100F was 'in yet'. Not only isn't it in yet "should be in the next week or two, surely", but according to him, we're (in the UK) not getting the 'F' version.

The results are in. I loaded 25 4x5 film holders, one side w/ Velvia "Classic," the other w/ 100F, and shot duplicates of all scenes, changing only the shutter speed. Here are my initial thoughts, fwiw: 1) It appears that there is actually slightly more than one stop

Off to the US in a week's time for a week north of Boston and southern New Hampshire generally. Any recommendations for good birding/wildlife photography spots? Any sites for beavers would be great (don't have them in Ireland!)

I'm luccky enough to be going to Uganda on a truck safari for two weeks this summer. Part of this trip will be tracking mountain Gorillas in the forest as well another day going after chimps. Does anyone have any tips for these situations specifically or for the trip
