Big time beginner questions regarding medium-large format cameras and operation/requirements/etc.26 Sep 2006 21:21 GMT14
I'm going straight to the wizards here to help me answer questions
before I go venturing into the land of MF-LF.  First things first, I
have used a ton of 35mm format film and digital based stuff and the
best I have been able to do is using my Contax G setup consisting of

Koni-Omega or Mamiya 7 for travelling / landscapes24 Sep 2006 20:23 GMT4
I already have a Koni-Omega (with the 90mm only).
I would consider buying the 58/60mm & 180mm lenses for it.
The alternative would be a Mamiya 7 with 43, 65 & 150mm (all used).
Upgrading the Koni-Omega would of course cost a fraction of the Mamiya kit.

film and airport x-rays20 Sep 2006 20:06 GMT15
I am about to travel by air to board a cruise ship.  I'm bringing a
dozen rolls of  120 Rollei R3 film rated at ISO of up to 6400.  Does
anyone have any experience or advice regarding airport baggage
scanners?  I think I had read somewhere that they were safe up to ISO
Current best scanner under $75020 Sep 2006 02:26 GMT73
I'm interested in getting a scanner for negative film, both 35 mm and
medium format.  The Epson V700 Photo appears to come highly recommended.
Any comments?

Process old Ilfocolour17 Sep 2006 00:18 GMT4
Just bought an old Ensign Ranger II 6*9 folder from a junk shop in our
village, to find it still has a roll of Ilfocolour in it.
A quick look on the web says that this film was introduced in 1960.
Does anyone have any idea what process it used?

I'd like to take my Yashica-Mat TLR on day hikes, especially this fall
to see if I can get some nice fall foliage photos. I have a few
questions though....
1) I'd like to keep the leather case on the camera for protection from
50 mm for RB6714 Sep 2006 04:45 GMT4
I just picked up a used 50mm for RB67 on eBay.  $207 USD including shipping,
front lens cap and the square lens hood.  I'm in Canada so I'm suspecting
the lens to arrive in three weeks, just in time for fall colors and
harvesting.  It should be interesting to see what kind of ...
New light meter meter advice12 Sep 2006 20:21 GMT12
I need to replace my Westonmaster V and invercone.  I presume that the
modern Sekonic and Gossen equivalents would be suitable replacements but I
am thinking that something of a more modern design, like a current Sekonic
L-308 would be a good plan, so I could meter flash as well.
New Rollei R3 film11 Sep 2006 13:52 GMT2
Has anyone had a chance to use the new Rollei R3 film?  It is rated
variable ISO from 25 - 6400.  I recently ordered a box of 120 size from
B&H but haven't shot or developed it yet and was looking for any tips.
