I plan to make some portraits with a Hasselblad 500 and 150mm lens and the Softar #2 filter. Would I be better off beginning with a lens that is soft in the first place rather than using a sharp lens with a Softar filter?

I'm a some time user of Pentax 67 though have come across a recurring problem ,both from when I assisted and most recently from my own use. The Pentax 67 appears to be working fine with the usual noises but the film comes back blank.

I just bought a soft release from Porters and although it works great on my Praktisix II, I does not fit on either of my TLRs (one 127, the other 120). Does anyone know of soft release that works good on TLRs? Thanks
