Need some help with a Mamiya 645pro30 Jun 2005 07:19 GMT6
Hello all.  I have wanted to try MF for a while and picked up a Mamiya 645pro for practically nothing with a 110mm lens that works great. There are some thing I am looking to find out about and need your help.
First, I would like to get a flash for the camera. It has a hot shoe ...
Kodak to discontinue black-white photo paper28 Jun 2005 02:15 GMT21
Kind of a surprise ... note sales were declining about 25% a year,
similar to the decline in film sales (though I'm sure film has a much
larger base) ... Kodak also reported a 1Q loss of $142 million "because
of a steady slide in revenues from film and other chemical based
Microsoft's RAW viewer26 Jun 2005 08:35 GMT10
Interesting, if slightly OT: Microsoft released earlier this month a
PowerToy module to browse and display RAW files. It does NOT work with DNG.
The relevance is to a discussion here a few months ago about future
availability of software and converters for image files. The ...
Minolta Scan Multi, or Epson 4870/4990 for medium format?25 Jun 2005 21:07 GMT14
I have a Minolta 5400 for 35mm and am looking for a scanner for 6x6.
Which one is better for a quality output?
Scan Multi: used $300-400  $50 extra for SCSI interface for OSX
Epson 4870/4990: use 4870: $300 new 4990: $400 USB/Firewire interface.
Spotmeter Size25 Jun 2005 17:38 GMT7
I ordered a used Minolta Auto Spot II light meter from an online shop.  I
got a great deal as they go on eBay for twice what I paid.
When it arrived, I was really surprised at how big this meter is.  I can't
imagine how big the original Auto Spot is!!
keeping fim cool before and after..................and chemical storage in fridg24 Jun 2005 12:11 GMT4
Hope to hear any advice on keeping film cool in your camera bags, cameras,
vehicles etc in these hot months. Looking for advice on not only with pre-
shot film but also AFTER you shoot it. I know the best case is processing
ASAP but sometimes that can't happen when out in the sticks ...
help identifying 6x9 camera back24 Jun 2005 06:20 GMT2
I am trying to identify what camera this back may have come from.
eBay item 7518176814
One opinion was a Nikon Copy Camera, but I couldn't find any reference
to such an animal, just lots of copies of Nikons!
Scanned film vs optical methods for print?23 Jun 2005 23:51 GMT51
I guess this isn't directly related to medium format but I know some
people here scan their film.
So far I've only had (colour) prints done from my RB67 negs/slides
scanned on a coolscan 9000 in 16bit and printed on a durst lambda
Question About Koni-Omega Camera23 Jun 2005 01:28 GMT4
Recently acquired a Koni-Omega Rapid M camera in very nice condition.
Does anyone know if they make 35mm or digital backs for this camera.
This one came with a standard 120 back.  Would appreciate any help.
Thanks, Bob.
Macro with Hassy22 Jun 2005 15:14 GMT5
Hi all, I would like to begin the experience of macro using my 501 C/M.
I have 2 ideas:
- buy a 120 mm macro lens
- buy a 50 mm lens plus one or two extension tubes
Are TLRs still seeing professional use?22 Jun 2005 11:26 GMT5
I've always gotten my best results with TLRs.  No mirror slap, good
parallax correction (better than rangefinders) and a great vantage point
for portraits.  I've seen a few "pro" looking people walking around with
Rolleiflexes in NYC but was wondering if these workhorses of ...

We would like your opinions; we are conducting a brief survey for

The survey should take no more than 5 minutes and all answers are

Anyone plucked up the courage...21 Jun 2005 02:22 GMT12
... to skin their 'Blad or 'Flex?
(translation, has anyone bought a kit for their clasic MF camera from
Cameraleather.com)
Specifically, has anyone put any "odd" coloured materials on their cameras,

looking for a strap/hood/UV filters for Autocord CDS20 Jun 2005 12:52 GMT4
I am looking for a strap/hood/UV filters for Autocord CDS.
I can use Rollei's bay I hood and filter for Autocord, but the Autocord
CDS has a unique clip for the strap that I have a hard time to find, or
substitute.
