Where to get 2-1/4" square media scanned?13 Apr 2005 12:21 GMT10
My local graphics lab (Severn Graphics in Glen Burnie, Maryland) offers two
medium-format slide/negative scanning services:
   1) "Utility" scanning at about 2000 ppi for $6 per original
   2) "High Quality" scanning at least double the resolution of the utility
At a photo flea market today I found a pair of Crown VS-502 monolights.  Looked okay, one has a failed slave dectector (which I don't care about, I can fix it or plug in a slave or sync).  The price seems great.        Is the head the same size as the 302?  Photoflex have a softbox connector listed for the 302, but not the 502.        Anyone know these lights?  I can't find much (anything) on the web.        Will finding tubes/incandescents be a problem?12 Apr 2005 17:48 GMT1
    Thanks,

Mail Order E6 Recommendations12 Apr 2005 15:04 GMT3
I've been using a local processor for developing MF Provia slides for
years.  Unfortunately, their prices keep going up and, more often than
not, the slides come back with noticable dirt.  At least its noticable
if you scan at 4000 dpi!

Can I expect to get film locally or do I have to carry in everything I'm
going to need for my 10-day visit?
TIA

Any reliable photo stores you can recommend in Hong Kong and mainland China?11 Apr 2005 15:23 GMT4
Do you know of any reliable photo stores you can recommend in Hong Kong and
mainland China. I have been considering a PME45 Hasselblad Viewfinder and
some other accessories. I have friends travelling there frequently. I am
also considering the option of mail order from there. Any ...
Serious newbie oldie seeking film advice11 Apr 2005 12:46 GMT17
I've been taking pictures seriously for several decades but I haven't used
my Bronica in over 10 years and I want to take it on a forthcoming trip to
Hawaii.  I'll be photographing mostly flowers and, hopefully, some birds and
maybe a sunset or two.  Since it's been a long time ...
The Widepan *can* do night photography11 Apr 2005 12:10 GMT13
I got it wrong. Although the slowest shutter speed is 1/2 sec, with the
Widepan you can do multiexposures. Just hope the camera and nothing
else has moved inbetween.
Now all I need is the Widepan to arrive from China.

Mamiya 7 rangefinder off?06 Apr 2005 00:59 GMT5
On my recent vacation I was using my 150 mm lens on my Mamiya 7. I
noticed that if I turned the lens all the way to infinity the
rangefinder actually indicated that the focus was PAST infinity. I
actually had to turn back a touch from infinity to get the rangefinder
Thin black lines on top and bottom of frame05 Apr 2005 16:18 GMT4
I ran a test roll (Ilford 50ASA) through my K88 last week. There are very
thin (about 1mm) black lines at the top and bottom of every frame. The
ends of the lines are beveled inwards, towards the center of the frame. I
assume this is a light leak problem of some sort. The shutter ...
Zenzanon 30mm f3.505 Apr 2005 14:11 GMT1
I'm thinking about buying a 30mm fisheye on my Bronica ETRS/i. Would anyone
be able to show me a sample picture taken with this lens. I'm just curious
to get some idea of the pictures it is capable of.
Kind regards,
