RIP Contax?22 Apr 2005 15:43 GMT12
Now that Kyocera has officially admitted that Contax products will no longer
be produced (by them), it seems like another case of corporate double-talk.
First, the rumors, then denail, and now the truth. If it is true, and all
Contax is done, then it's a shame. The 645 system is ...
Widepan test roll results22 Apr 2005 07:38 GMT6
I put a test roll through my Widepan and got the results back. Same
photo but 6 different focussing distances all at 1/250th sec and
approx. f11 on a sunnyish day. All six frames had the first 3mm
overexposed due to the drum coming up to speed. I inspected each frame
best way to sell old mamiya system?21 Apr 2005 19:21 GMT9
I have a 10 year old mamiya 645 super, motor drive, prism, several backs,
plus several lenses. What is the best way to sell it?
I'm afraid if I sell it on ebay, lenses may get damaged on the way, plus I
don't have alot of feedbacks so buyers may not bid on such relatively
Ascorlight QC4 400w s20 Apr 2005 18:38 GMT4
[sorry if this has been posted here already.  I can't see if it got out
on first try or replies...]
I have an opportunity to purchase a used QC4 that is about 10 years old
(actual age uncertain).  Comes with stands and two heads.  Very clean

was browsing through news groups, just like you are now and came
Mamiya 55mm repair?18 Apr 2005 22:04 GMT2
I hadn't used my TLR for about 6 mos. until today. While checking my black
55mm I noticed that the leaf shutter will not open at any speed. It has
worked well for the last 5+ years that I've owned it. Any suggestions on
where I might get it repaired/checked-out in the San ...
Selftimer or remote control for Mamiya 645 Super16 Apr 2005 20:44 GMT2
Can anyone make a suggestion as to how I can make a cheap selftimer or
remote control for my Mamiya 645 Super.
It has electronic control over shutter and transport through a 4 pin
plug on the side of the camera. Can I buy a plug to fit?
Mamiya 6 Film Advance Problem16 Apr 2005 20:18 GMT2
Is it true that winder/film advance mechanisms for the Mamiya 6 (RF) are
no longer replaceable and that hundreds of users are now stuck with
non-reparable cameras. I am coming out of a medium format "coma" (love
that digital!) and am now just hearing about this issue. I have an M ...
wide angle16 Apr 2005 18:49 GMT11
Need a WA for my 6 X 9 view.  Have an idea that I want a 47mm Super
angulon.  Please respond with advice, ideas, do's and don'ts, where to's,
and anything else that might help me make up my mind.  Image quality is
paramount but price is a consideration.
Hasselblad 500C shutter jam16 Apr 2005 05:34 GMT3
My 500C will not release the shutter when the dark slide is removed. The
shutter cocks just fine and will fire when back is removed from the camera.
Could this be a problem with the back? I have checked all settings to
ensure I have not somehow locked the shutter, still no luck. Has ...
Kiev 66 slide projector14 Apr 2005 18:47 GMT5
anyone own one?   they are very modestly priced for 2 1/4 square slide
projectors.  I love my Kiev 60 SLR (I can afford it and it takes
better pictures than I can shoot)
Weston Master III14 Apr 2005 16:27 GMT3
I have a Weston Master 3 and the glass has come unstuck and fallen in
against the scale.  Everything still works fine (if you hold upside
down so the glass sits back in place!)
Does anyone know how to open the meter so I can re-affix the glass
calumet flash meter batteries14 Apr 2005 10:56 GMT9
I've still got my ole Calumenbt flash meter from the 70's and it still
works fine but the batteries are getting quite pricey these days
(2x6volt) .  My problem is I don't use it all that much and they die
from age more than anything else.  Does anyone know of theres a safe
70 mm film14 Apr 2005 04:19 GMT12
Does anyone have a convenient summary (maybe on a web page) of what
films are still available in 70 mm format?
Thanks,
Charles Hohenstein
