I bought an Agfa Isolette II on Ebay ( my first medium format, on a budget
;) ) followed instructions on disassembling to clean it ( my rolls of film
are on the way so I can't start taking pics yet anyway, figured I could do
something usefull..)
The *real* Velvia 100 has come!17 Feb 2005 22:21 GMT15
Fujifilm just announced a new slide film: Velvia 100 Professional.
Please note, it is *not* the well-known Velvia 100F, it's another
Velvia, with a more vibrant color response, much closer to the
original Velvia (50).
Super high resolution prints on transparency in L.A.?17 Feb 2005 19:57 GMT5
I do live in Los Angeles and need to find someone who can produce a high res
print. I have created 'non-traditional' artwork (for some research) in
Illustrator which contains several thousand super fine lines at a thickness
of less than 1/10 of a millimeter. I need to have the file ...
Opemus Standard 217 Feb 2005 18:39 GMT1
Yesterday I received as a gift beautiful Opemus Standard 2 enlarger. All as
new condition and works perfectly. Unfortunately, I have no user manual, so
I don't know if this model could be adopted for use with colour head or with
filters for multigrade paper. As I understand it is ...
Low definition lenses17 Feb 2005 17:06 GMT32
Bored with all this Apo - superapo willy-waving?
Way back when, I used to buy a magazine called SLR. It had a series of
articles by someone who tried all sorts of odd stuff. He found that the
plastic centre from an old-fashioned rotary telephone dial had a focal
6x6 = 180 Megapixel camera?17 Feb 2005 04:49 GMT90
What is the fault with this calculation?
Slow speed slide film can do 120 lp/mm which is effectively 240 pixels
per mm. 6x6 is really 56mmx56mm. So the effective pixels on a frame
are..
Widepan cameras any good?16 Feb 2005 12:33 GMT16
I saw this on UK ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=710&item=3869225296&rd=1
It looks good. I am after a medium format swing lens camera but it must
be focussed to infinity and not 30 feet like the standard medium format
?? Ansco Commander 6 x 9  ??15 Feb 2005 11:37 GMT2
Ansco Commander 6 x 9 folder, 120 film, Vario shutter with PC cord
flash sync.   Saw this in a junk store yesterday at a moderate price.
Focusing mount, infinity to 3', no rangefinder,  was frozen, but price
is low enough to gamble on if the lens is good enough to make a ...

"telephoto" - another definition problem14 Feb 2005 13:25 GMT31
I decided I might like a "true" very-high-quality 1:1 macro lens for
the EOS mount so I did a search on "process lens" (due to a discussion
in another thread that suggested a 1:1 top quality symettrical "macro"
lens is called a "process lens") and did not find any EOS Canon lenses
Mamiya tripod14 Feb 2005 04:34 GMT1
Is it possible to buy the carbon fiber tripod/unipod
or the pan head that Mamiya manufactures, in the U.S.?
I found a dealer in the U.K. that could get it, but
am having trouble here in the states.
What are the optical advantages of MF over 35MM SLR?13 Feb 2005 22:19 GMT48
If there is any optic technician/expert that can help me with affirmed
knowledge, please reply, it will be most appreciated.  I have spent time
trying to research this on the web, but from what I can tell:
- That the only advantages are professionalism, extreme narrow DOF and
Can a camera steal my soul ? ? ?13 Feb 2005 01:42 GMT21
I heard that cameras can steal your soul.
Is that true ?

Going nutz here, trying to find a suitable flash bracket for my RZ67
pro II. I've got a bogen 3130 head (called a video head?) which
basicially amounts to not being able to rotate the camera, which I dont
need anyway becuase of he rotator back. This head also has the quick
