What are some of the best text books for a technical discussion of
photography (film, lenses, etc)? Looking for detailed discussions, not
beginner info.
Honeywell Strobonar Filters31 Aug 2004 13:30 GMT6
I have an old Strobonar that I'd like to use as a slave unit for background
fill. There was a time when I had a et of colored filters that snapped over
the flash lens, but they've long since been lost. Does anyone know where I
might find a new/used set?.....TIA
SLR for Macro and Portraits31 Aug 2004 08:58 GMT6
I have finally decided that within the next 6-9 months I will have an MF
kit. I am currently using a canon SLR that I love but I also love large
clear enlargements. The primary uses will be for Macro and portraiture with
the occasional landscape. A lot of times when I'm shooting ...

Converting Voigtlander Bessamatic lenses to work on a Retina Reflex
(and vice-versa)
Does anyone know if that article is still available?
(Yes, I know it isn't MF but there is no point in me asking it on the
TP120 Discontinued by December31 Aug 2004 04:56 GMT76
This probably has been discussed here before, but I don't see the thread
on my screen.  This is truly sad news for film users.  TechPan was the
most grain-free film that I've seen.  I've never been able to see the
grain with my scanner.
Hasselblad PolaPlus back question!29 Aug 2004 06:30 GMT1
Will the Fuji film such as Fuji FP 100 C instant color film work/fit the
Polaroid back just like the Polaroid brand instant film!

Electronic Shutters - A Whole Bunch Better?29 Aug 2004 00:53 GMT50
I'm a 99% convert to electronic camera shutters. Should I be?
Is one brand of electronics as good as the next?
Do they remain accurate? How durable are they?           Dan
Beattie screens w/split image28 Aug 2004 21:47 GMT14
I'm ordering a Beattie focusing screen for my RB67.  Does anyone have a
preference between the horizontal and diagonal split center?  I use my RB
mainly for scenic and groups of people.
There is also a Mamiya screen on ebay with just the fresnel center.
FA: Ends SUN: Fresnel Split Image Screen for Pentacon Six / TL, Praktisix I / II28 Aug 2004 20:58 GMT1
Ending Sunday at 22:00 GMT (2pm Pacific), the last fresnel/split-image

camera.  Rare and very useful!

120/220 spool/film dimensions28 Aug 2004 03:52 GMT12
Does anyone know 'spec' or typical spool measurements for 120/220
film?
I measured one, and it's kind of 'ovoid', of non-circular cross
section. I am doing some calculations to scale for larger film spools.
Hass PME3- identifying28 Aug 2004 00:38 GMT1
Is there any way of identifying a Hasselblad PME from a PME3? The London
branch of my shop has a lot of PME3s listed on stock but the one they sent
up to us doesn't specify which model it is externally. Given the state of
the crap London usually send us, it wouldn't surprise me if ...
Pentax 6x7 problems27 Aug 2004 22:33 GMT7
Hi, I recently shot some film at Joshua Tree NP. When I got the proof sheets
and the negs back, there were several unexposed frames. On 1 roll, 7 out of
the 10 frames were never exposed. On the others, no more that 5 frames were
exposed. Just empty black boxes on the proof sheets.

RB67 50mm...any pics in galleries?27 Aug 2004 05:38 GMT4
Can't decide if the RB67 50mm is for me, and if so, older model or only new.
I've read strong reviews both raving and trashing the lens (blad owners
trashing).  There is no dealer near me that would rent me one for a day let
alone stock one.  I'm want to find out more about the lens ...
