Hass lens repair manual recommendations?23 Jun 2004 00:52 GMT1
I did clean and lubes on my old Mamiya RB shutters years ago and now
have a Hassleblad C T* that needs it. Anybody have a recommendation for manuals?
Hasselblad's is pretty much exploded views, as I understand it. Ed
Romney's? Any input appreciated.
Does the 1/focal length rule apply for hand holding medium format?22 Jun 2004 05:13 GMT15
I'm just getting a Mamiya C330 TLR and I wondered if this 'rule' or
guide would hold with this camera?
I wait in anticipation for the barraige of replies insisting that
I use a tripod!
Keeping films in fridge?22 Jun 2004 01:12 GMT16
I have heard from many people that keeping the films in the fridge (i.e.
4?C) is the best way.
I am wondering whether the humidity level generally found in a fridge may be
of any concern?

Digital Imaging vs. (Digital and Film) Photography19 Jun 2004 17:49 GMT9
Photography literally means "writing with light". Since ~80% of digicam
owners NEVER make any prints (per PMAI stats), I suggest they aren't doing
photography but digital imaging. This is a distinction that makes a big
difference in the future of photography - both film and digital ...
Robert Glenn Ketchum on digital printing vs Ilfochromes19 Jun 2004 05:25 GMT9
RG Ketchum is a famous landscape photographer who prints coffee table books
with environmental/conservation themes (like his work on the Arctic NWR or the
clear cutting of the Tongass forests in SE Alaska) and sells large fine art
prints to collectors.  Since 1980 he's been shooting ...
Best bag for CONTAX 645 AF camera and lenses?19 Jun 2004 01:28 GMT1
Currently I have a Tamrac 'Expedition 8' for my Contax 645 AF camera and
5 Carl Zeiss lenses: 35/f3.5, 45-90/f4.5 zoom, 80/f2.0, 120/f4.0 macro
and 210/f4.0. The 45-90mm/f4.5 zoom is most frequently used lens when I
shot landscape. The Tamrac bag is the worst one to fit my photo ...

Overlap frames on Zeis Ikon15 Jun 2004 01:10 GMT3
I dusted off my father's old Zeiss Ikon camera and shot a roll
of Fuji Provia.  However the frames were overlapping around
a quarter inch.
Is there something I did wrong or has something changed
Nikon D1 Digital Equipment14 Jun 2004 18:06 GMT2
This is a heads up - if you always wanted to try a quality digital
camera but were afraid of the price - the Newark (NJ) Star Ledger
newspaper is converting its digital photo operation from Nikon to Canon.
As a result, the Star Ledger is selling off some 60 Nikon D1 cameras,

Pentacon 6 TL wind-on lever14 Jun 2004 03:38 GMT4
I have been reading German e-bay and see reference to a way you have
got to wind on the Pentacon 6 TL that is mentioned in the
instructions. Presumably so that it winds on the correct amount (I
gather this is a known fault with the camera). Does anyone here know
Using 35mm Camera as a Meter13 Jun 2004 08:13 GMT10
Hi, have any of you ever used your 35 mm camera as a light meter for medium
format landscape work?
I was thinking today that I could use my Eos 3 with a similar wide angle
