family gathering shoot (repost)26 Feb 2004 02:01 GMT4
[ I posted this to r.p.e.35mm, but I think the S/N ratio is too low there.
Just looking for a bit of input from others ]
I've been asked to shoot pictures for a family gathering (90th b-day of
grandma).  Of course I said that I don't know what I'm doing and would be

Help with Mamiya C33025 Feb 2004 02:50 GMT3
I recently sold a Mamiya C330 and received the following email. I'd like
to help her figure out what's going on, so I hope someone in this
newsgroup can shed a little light on this. Thanks for any help you can
give.
Resolution -- 8x10" Prints24 Feb 2004 22:17 GMT26
I'm interested in being able to create extremely sharp, but not
extremely large prints. At what print size does a medium format camera
provide any significant improvement over 35mm? Are there services
which can provide improved resolution prints? Thanks.
Seeking a 'better' Seagull TLR manual24 Feb 2004 17:38 GMT5
I've jumped-into medium format, after falling in love with film again.
I owe that new found love to the Lomo LC-A...
Armed with a light meter and a throbbing question-mark over my head, I
just shot my first 120 roll.  I think I get it, but since all the
Zoom viewfinder for 6 X 724 Feb 2004 09:46 GMT2
I use a Mamiya 7, with various lenses ranging from 50mm to 150 mm.
Does anyone know of a zoom rangefinder that might cover these focal
lengths for 6 X 7?
It would be very handy for landscape work.

Kodachrome 120?24 Feb 2004 00:13 GMT5
Kodachrome has always been my favorite 35mm slide film; the only other slide
I've ever tried besides Ektachrome was Fujichrome and I didn't care for it,
to me, it wasn't much different from Ektachrome; yep, Kodachrome is my true
love and Paul Simon was right: "gives us the nice ...
Backing paper what's it good for?23 Feb 2004 23:18 GMT2
So what does backing paper do?
     1) Keeps the film safe from fogging when out of the camera.
     2) Helps protect from scratching while inside the camera?
     3) provides frame numbers for the red window
Mamiya RZ67 220 6x7 back and 120 film question23 Feb 2004 19:42 GMT6
I am using a friend's Mamiya RZ67 camera. It has a 220 film back with it (6x7
format). I see on the Mamiya website that there is a 6x6 format back that is
listed as possible to use 120 or 220 film. Does anyone know why 120 film can't
be used in the 220 (6x7) back? Has anyone tried ...
Pentax 645 v 645N20 Feb 2004 08:59 GMT4
Could someone explain the main differences between the Pentax 645 and the
645N and if the price difference is warranted?
As far as I can see, the main difference is matrix/spot metering vs center
metering and autofocus vs manual focus only.
Gossen Luna Pro20 Feb 2004 03:52 GMT6
Can anyone offer any help on using the Luna Pro? I just got one without the
manual.
Thanks,

Making film lay flat in LS-8000 scanner20 Feb 2004 02:30 GMT11
I just purchased a Nikon LS-8000 scanner and I'm having trouble getting my
6x7 film to lay flat, do I just need more practice?   I'm sure that the
glass holder would make life easier, but I can't afford $240 for a film
holder.  Anyone have any tips?
need 4X5 med. format studio camera19 Feb 2004 17:51 GMT9
I'm looking for recommendations.  I do a lot of giclee printing for artists.
I need a 4X5 studio camera suitable for shooting paintings.  I already have
a complete strobe set-up, studio tripod, and light meters.  This camera will
probably never be used in the field.  It is important ...
