rolleiflex automat X features08 Jan 2004 12:20 GMT2
I have a Rolleiflex automat X but it seems to lack some features.
There is no double exposure button and the pressure plate is fixed.
THe pressure plate is silver. I wonder whether this is a different
model or was perhaps modified.
finding a pro lab08 Jan 2004 03:44 GMT4
Figured out on my own that Kodak is better than one hour photo places,
but I suspect that Kodak's level of service is not as good as a pro
lab.
So how does a newbie go out there and find a good lab?  And how much
Two questions?07 Jan 2004 16:07 GMT4
Hi gang,
Can I change the lens on a Speed Graphic? Which lens(es) would I want to give
me an equivalent view of a 35-40 mm in 35 terms for a 4x5?
TIA
CoolScan 8000 ED/LS-8000, difference?07 Jan 2004 10:33 GMT2
Is there a difference between these two models, if so, what is the
difference?  The 8000 ED is the only model shown on Nikon's web site (Hall
of Fame section).  I'm aware that the 9000 has replaced any previous MF
models!
MF Film Scanner suggestions?07 Jan 2004 07:21 GMT5
I would like to purchase a medium-format film scanner and I'm leaning
towards the Nikon CoolScan 8000 'cause there seems to be a lot of them
available on eBay for a good price, and I can't afford to spend $2500 -
$3000 for a new one.  Is there some other make/model that I should ...
Medium Format Scanner which one?07 Jan 2004 05:30 GMT8
Would like to hear recommendations for
a decent lower priced model scanner used
primarily for b&w negs.
Thanks
Exakta 66 Prism Finder - How useful?07 Jan 2004 00:10 GMT7
I see that there's a German aftermarket supplier modifying Kiev metered
Prisms for use on the Exakta 66.  I'm assuming that if you mount one of
these devices on an Exakta 66, you would lose the aperture coupling on
the Schneider lenses.  This makes me wonder: is this tradeoff worth ...
Tripod for 500CM w/ Planar 80 f/2.806 Jan 2004 21:30 GMT6
What tripod/head for studio and field?
What is the weight of the lens and the A12 back?
Thanks,
Alan.
online vendors of esoteric emulsions?06 Jan 2004 05:14 GMT1
Hi, All,
I currently buy my film from B&H photo.
I am wondering if there are any other mail order companies online that
sell many kinds of 120 film.  B&H photo has a great selection compared
Holga exposure and processing05 Jan 2004 20:48 GMT12
I recently purchased a Holga and I'm very confused about how the
exposure will be so I can determine whether to push or pull the film,
depending on the lighting conditions.  Using the sunny 16 rule, I did
some calculations that I've included below, assuming the "sunny"
Photographer's vests revisited05 Jan 2004 01:14 GMT29
Does anyone prefer true photographer's vests, that is, vests designed
for photographers and advertised as such?  I've looked at lots and lots
of them, but I find myself going back again and again to what are
actually fly-fishing vests.  They are cheaper and they have more pockets
Batteries03 Jan 2004 18:30 GMT1
Fellow Photographers:  I'm looking for information on rechargeable
batteries.  Any reliable sources, buyers' guides?
thanks,
Ray
What of the Hasselblad (zeiss) 40c?03 Jan 2004 16:00 GMT2
I'm thinking of getting a 40mm lens for the 500c instead of a second SWC.
If you have used one, what do you think of the lens?
And what filters and shade does it use?

SWC back question03 Jan 2004 15:33 GMT4
I've been disappointed by the performance of my early SWC lately. It seems
to focus closer than infinity when focused upon infinity. The lens helix
works perfectly well, and the lens is okay. This problem is exacerbated by
the fact that only recently have I had to do stupidly large ...
