Looking at buying a Rolliflex and need some info31 Oct 2003 23:27 GMT4
There's a Rollieflex for sale (Tessar f3.5, no light meter) in very
good shape.  I've determined so far that the low shutter speeds are
accurate and that the aperture appears fine except for a bit of oil on
the blades.  The lens looks good and fungus free but there's some dirt

Film advance and slippage in 501CM Blad29 Oct 2003 15:42 GMT1
Hi Group,
Has anyone experienced film slippage problems with 501CM's with an A12
back? Should there be a difference between advancing the film with the
crank lever and just the film advance knob?
Does anyone have an Epson Perfection 3170 scanner yet?29 Oct 2003 03:03 GMT5
There are still no online reviews anywhere that I can find.  Viewscan
doesn't work with it, and I dunno if Ed will get it working (is this a big
deal?)  Has anyone here used a 3170 to scan 645 or 6x6 negatives?  How well
does it work?  Does it render colors accurately from a ...
SL66 quick-release mounting question29 Oct 2003 00:20 GMT1
I am waiting for an used SL66 camera to fall in my hands in a matter
of few days. As for now, I am getting prepared to shoot the first
rolls of the film and have been wondering if the camera would feet my
tripod setup. At the moment I am using an Arca Swiss ball head with
Kinderman lens hack28 Oct 2003 16:35 GMT1
I have asked this question several times and never got a responce. I have a
kinderman 6X6 projector and have wondered if the lens it came with, a
Will-Wetzlar Maginon f3.0 150mm lens is good, bad or indifferent. Well I

Why I like mechanical cameras and film.28 Oct 2003 03:44 GMT12
I enjoy using mechanical cameras.  I love the sounds they make. I like the
feel of the innards moving when I change speeds. I want to be able to wind
the film to the next frame with a lever or a knob. I like to focus the
camera myself. I actually find a red window that lets me see ...
Dynamic Range of films vs prints27 Oct 2003 21:28 GMT16
The recent thread about transparencies vs negatives highlighted the
different perceptions that people have about this subject.
Lately I've done some scanning of color images with the new Minolta 5400
and have revised by opinion about the need for transparencies.
Tools to take with a Mamiya 7 On The Road27 Oct 2003 06:13 GMT6
Jewlers screwdriver, just in case the bloody rangefinder goes out of
wack for no known reason.
Or, if you are in Portugal, near Columbo, go the AKI and get a little
set for 5e.
Again, I appeal to all of your knowledge & experience.25 Oct 2003 18:48 GMT12
I'm still kind of stuck on moving to a 6x7 film format, and in my original
post "camera suggestions?" several of you made me realize that my Rollei
2.8F Planar TLR would be hard to match by any SLR, 6x6, or 6x7; but what if
I increased the dollar amount I''m willing to spend, would ...
MF wide camera DIY... is it possible?24 Oct 2003 17:04 GMT27
I'd like to shoot in 6x9 with a wide lens.
I mean something very simple, like a box with a lens mount on the front, a film back holder on the
rear and a uncoupled viewfinder. Like Horseman, Cambo Wide or Alpa, but much more cheap... ($2000
range - that's my budget)
RB67 digital backs?24 Oct 2003 08:10 GMT3
Has anyone had experience with the digital backs available for the BR67 Pro
S?  I'm wondering what kind of enlargements they produce?  Are they
stunning?
Flashbulbs24 Oct 2003 04:00 GMT15
Does anyone here know the difference between a Number 2 and a Number 22 flash
in terms of output?  They appear to be roughly the same size, but the 22 seems
to have more filaments in it than the 2.
Kiev Carl Zeiss/Arsat vs hassy C lenses? (I'm serious!)23 Oct 2003 20:15 GMT117
I'm contemplating on buying a kiev 88/60 or old hasselblad 500 cm
fitted with a kiev prism and back to cut down on cost.  I'm wondering
if anyone has used BOTH the hasselblad or kiev and if you think there
was a difference in color cast/contrast characteristics between the
