Camera obscura focal formula???17 Jul 2003 14:35 GMT1
I am wanting to make a large box size camera obscura and I wanted to know
about the formula to use for the correct aperture size compared to the focal
length as it seems that the traditional pinhole formulas would render the
hole too small.
Bokeh and Old Polaroid Optics on Front Standard17 Jul 2003 14:29 GMT1
It's also interesting to note the old Polaroid rollfolders hafe a
Waterhouse stop as opposed to a diaphragm.  Perhaps "bokeh" is part of
the reason these are so acclaimed for portraiture and soft focus work.
FLE focussing16 Jul 2003 22:33 GMT1
Short question: the Hassy 50 mm Cfi has two focussing rings: one for normal
focussing and one for the floating lens element (four steps: 0.5-0.8;
0.8-1.2; 1.2-4; 4-inf.).
But how do you set the floating lens when you are shooting a landscape with
Kiev hassy backs: Do NT backs fit both?16 Jul 2003 04:01 GMT5
Will NT backs fit both modern Hasselblads and the Kiev?
pre-visualizing focal lengths without a lens...16 Jul 2003 01:15 GMT3
Ok, so having a heavy TLR, i want to evaluate any given scene to judge
whether its photo-worthy before i pull out the c330 and set it up. How can i
visually evaluate the exact 'frame' of a normal scene without looking at it
through a lens or WLF?
Putting a grid on ground glass focusing surface15 Jul 2003 20:23 GMT9
I have a couple of backs for my 2-1/4x3-1/4" Galvin view camera: a
Graflok back and the original Galvin back. I would like to put -- or have
put -- a grid on the glass so I can more easily align verticals and
horizontals to correct perspective.
Where can I get one camera battery PX625A?15 Jul 2003 18:29 GMT4
Evidently my camera is getting old because the drug stores don't carry it.
Anybody know a good (reliable) source for a one battery thru the net or mail?
If so, pls send me an email.
Or, if anyone else needs one and has to buy a package of many, I’ll split the
Weston Master II : please help diagnose15 Jul 2003 14:08 GMT3
this email might not make sense for those unfamliar with this antiquated 60
year old light meter...but to those that know this one:
i was hunting around for a decent lightmeter and after getting outbid (as
usual) on ebay, i decided to dig a little further into my bag and pulled out
Polaroid 110a/b/pathfinder converted to 120roll film15 Jul 2003 01:26 GMT20
Anyone here ever tried converting a Polaroid 110A/110B/Pathfinder camera
to 120 roll film. I'd like to try this myself and would like some
pointers.
Cheers

Kiev 60 or alike?14 Jul 2003 16:04 GMT9
Any experience on those cameras?
I'm looking at getting into medium format.. but don't have much to spend
are those Kiev good enough?  I know that there's similar camera like
Pentacon 6 and so on.. which one is more reliable?
Light weight MF13 Jul 2003 16:04 GMT11
Any suggestions for a light weight MF camera?  My Hassy is just too heavy for
my hiking trips.  A required feature (for closeups) is visual focusing (not
distance guessing).  Everything else can be manual. The ability to shoot wide
angle would be a plus, but not required.  Of course ...
Film Scanners - Nikon about to replace the Super Coolscan 8000 ED?13 Jul 2003 13:59 GMT2
Am really anxious to buy a highend film scanner that will do medium format
and it appears that the Nikon Super Coolscan 8000 ED is currently the best
out there.  However, the recent discounting by Nikon has me wondering if
Nikon is about to introduce some newer, more advanced models ...
Pentax 6x7 Lens Adapter ?13 Jul 2003 06:23 GMT5
Is there an adapter that can attach to Pentax 67 lenses to a (large
diameter) screw thread ?
At work, I have a requirement to test large CCD arrays (5 x5 cm). So, medium
format camera lenses appear to give the correct image size.
