Front tilt loses middle20 Jan 2007 02:27 GMT60
I should know this procedure, but my results say otherwise. When I
front tilt for maximum depth of field then check that my forground and
background are sharp, should I then focus the middle ground for final
focus?  I  am seeking complete all over focus.
backpack?17 Jan 2007 04:47 GMT6
My f64 backpack finally crapped out after several years:  failed
zippers.  I have LF equipment including a Wisner camera that is above
average in size, plus 5 lenses, plus Stuff.  What backpack do you
suggest I buy?
Determination of resolution in MTF15 Jan 2007 16:30 GMT12
Hi ng,
can someone please explain to me why the resolution of a lens is
normally determined at the point of the MTF where the modulation is
only 50%? Is this done due to some perceptual reasons?
An experiment14 Jan 2007 18:27 GMT11
Here's the thought.
For my 8x10, to use a variety of good barrel lenses,
I'd like to take an old Baby Speed Graphic, remove the front and back,
add mounting and a front lens board, and thus have a focal plane
2nd attempt at lens ID11 Jan 2007 21:48 GMT4
OK, all you old optics hotshots: see if you can identify this one. (I
think I tried here a year ago or more, but have some new information.)
It's an old-fashioned (meaning pre-Compur even) lens in shutter. The
pneumatic (self-cocking) shutter says "Victor" on the aperture plate at ...
Sparked interest to join the LF crew.  Some questions to help me begin!:)09 Jan 2007 14:20 GMT47
Well...I have a number of questions, but lets start here.
1) Is there a LF (4X5) camera that is portable or can even be a "street
shooting" type of a camera?
2) What are the lightest weight ones available?
Can holographic film replace Tech Pan 2415?06 Jan 2007 17:45 GMT10
Seeking an alternative to the now defunct Kodak Tech Pan 2415 film, I
have been casting an eye on holographic film as a spossible substitute.
I would appreciate anyone's experience in working and/or testing this
type of film, re increasing sensitivity by various hypersensitization
Strange Lens: APO-Rodagon D 75 f/4 with NO Iris04 Jan 2007 01:28 GMT6
Can someone help me with this little mystery... I have in my hands an
APO-Rodagon D 74 f/4 lens. Marked on the barrel is "1:1".
I know this lens is optimized for 1:1 reproduction and I would like to
use it for macro photography.
morse contact printers01 Jan 2007 00:31 GMT26
I'm clearing out my shelves and I found three Morse contact printers I'd
like to get rid of. These are 10x10 units with 39 argon lamps in each. Each
lamp is individually switched. Anyone interested?
