Having problems with 545 not releasing 55 pos/neg for later processing.
Looking at apparatus - the little lock seems to retract when the lever
is pushed.
Any suggestions.
Speaking of Joel Meyerowitz...29 Oct 2006 02:57 GMT22
I know he used a large format camera for much if not all of the work
featured in his latest book but...
Does anyone know if he or if Phaidon Press is donating any of the proceeds
of the sales of his book to any of the various charities that have sprung up
Cutting a Darkslide - Panoramics on Sheet Film26 Oct 2006 01:38 GMT6
Has anyone here done this?
I want to cut a spare 10x8" darkslide so I can use it to shoot two
10x4"(ish) 'panoramic' shots on one sheet of film - I know this is nothing
new.  If it works well I might do something similar with a 4x5" darkslide,
7X17 wide-angles25 Oct 2006 23:12 GMT8
I have a friend who recently acquired a Korona 7X17 camera at an
auction.  He would like to find a good wide-angle lens for it.  I
believe that he would like something that would give him roughly the
same perspective as a 90mm or 100mm on 4X5.  He would consider both
Source for Series VI to 52mm stepup rings?24 Oct 2006 01:48 GMT4
Does anybody sell these in the US?  I've found Series VII to 52mm in the past
(nice for that 100mm or 135mm WF Ektar), but no Series VI.
Please reply to group, the email address won't work unless you remove the
cured food item.
Life cycle of a Photographer20 Oct 2006 22:30 GMT8
I think the life cycle is all backwards.
You should start out dead; just get it right out of the way.
You wake up in a senior care facility and start feeling better
every day.

Thickness of front-cell shim for 210mm APO-Sironar-W?13 Oct 2006 19:39 GMT2
Does anyone know if this shim is a standard thickness, and if so, how thick
it is?  Or did each lens get its own shim to optimize its performance?  Mine
came with no shim, but most APO-Sironars I've seen or heard of had a
shim between the front cell and the shutter.
Digital mosaics as a replacement of the large format view camera10 Oct 2006 22:02 GMT80
I have been doing large format photography for going on 2 decades.
I have also been doing wildlife photography, first with 35mm then
digital.  Thus, I often carry both digital wildlife and 4x5 gear
on a hike (up to 70 pounds).  That gets real tiring and limits
Good news for BW fans02 Oct 2006 05:06 GMT1
Here's an excerpt from a report on another list.
