Canham MQC57 question26 May 2006 16:56 GMT3
I recently came into an MQC57 in excellent condition.  A previous
owner had replaced the glass with some kind of acrylic.  It appears
the Fresnel is still in place, and is located on the "lens" side of
the glass, not the "film" side.  Is this the correctFresnel location for
4x5 film holder repair25 May 2006 23:54 GMT4
I have a couple of 4x5 film holders where the black clothe-like tape that
allows the bottom of the holder to swing open has torn and needs to be
replaced. I'm hoping someone can guide me to a source where I can buy this
tape to repair these holders. Thanks.
Not Downloaded16 May 2006 16:31 GMT2
Why, in only a few newsgroups incl. this one, when I enter, do I get a lot
of messages downloaded, but a small number is shown at the bottom as "not
downloaded"?
An inquiring mind wants to know.
Trilliums and a Shen-Hao16 May 2006 11:44 GMT27
Hey, got my first decent 4x5 shot--wrestling with that Shen-Hao can be a lot
of work!  Any other owners of the shen-hao having trouble locking down the
front standard's tilt?  I'm thinking I need to lose the teflon washers, but
then it's hard to twist the lock-down whatever ...
Bogen 3275/Manfrtotto 410 head15 May 2006 22:16 GMT1
Anyone have one of these geared heads? Just picked one up off e-bay and
the controls seem quite stiff. Is that normal? Have you tried lubing it
and, if so, with what? Grazzi.
Pinhole photography15 May 2006 22:13 GMT19
I recently converted a 4x5 speed graphic to a pinhole camera. I have
taken a number of photos using sheet film but was wondering if
photographic paper would work instead of film.
Any ideas on exposure with paper?

i've found a used one near here in overall good conditions, but i
cannot try it before buying it.
i only know it accepts films up to 4x5" and that the shop claims it to
be "a pro scanner with autofocus", but i know nothing more, neither i
Linhof Color problem11 May 2006 09:03 GMT1
anyone here familiar with the mechanics of the Linhof Color?  Just
now, I needed to move the front standard a bit forward, so I loosened
the big knob that locks it to the monorail, slid it to where I wanted
to -- and when I tried to tighten up the locking knob again, it
11x14 back for a B&J ??10 May 2006 01:21 GMT3
I recently bought an 11x14 B&J but it's missing the back. It does have a
rear standard, just not the film back.
Any ideas on where I can find one, have one made, etc?
Thanks very much.
Camera ID09 May 2006 00:42 GMT22
I recently found this camera at a yard sale and was wondering if
anybody could give me any info such as when it was made etc.
It has a Kalostigmat f/6.8 13cm C.P. Gorez Berlin  lens in a Ibso
Compound  shutter with speeds of T-B-1-100 sec and has removable
Lighting still life08 May 2006 13:52 GMT21
I was in camera sales for 21 years and have a question that has stumped
several professionals.
You are photographing a still life with a small flash system.  Your
flash meter tells you that for a proper exposure you need to use f 4.0.

I have a Deardorff 8x10 and am looking for a W-A lens. I found this on
eBay:
SINAR DB SINARON S 240 5.6
I'm not that familiar with Sinar. Would this lens do the trick?
Socialism versus assholism02 May 2006 08:40 GMT8

Lens daydreaming.02 May 2006 02:22 GMT3
Without yelling at me "read the faq..."
I've quit lurking for this one post.
Has anyone tried putting two 35mm lenses, say a 200mm and 50mm lens back
to back so that the final image is projected onto say, a 4x5 piece of
