Truthfully describing an old lens26 Feb 2006 21:32 GMT47
A while back I bought an old Symmar 240/5.6 lens on eBay.
The lens and shutter are pristine, except for what appear to be
lots of very tiny bubbles between certain lens elements.  You
can really only see this if you look through the lens at a very

135-mm Oxyplast lens23 Feb 2006 19:34 GMT6
I inherited a large format lens marked as follows:
Oxyplast 1:4.5 f-135 mm L. O. Bittnet A.G. Munchen Doppel-Anastigmat
It's mounted in a dial-set Compur shutter, Serial Number 522465
Limited testing indicates it isn't very sharp.
Enlarging 6x12cm negatives20 Feb 2006 20:26 GMT2
How are 6x12cm negatives enlarged with a Beseler 45 enlarger? Is there a
glass-less 6x12 negative carrier or should one modify a 6x9 carrier? I
know a 4x5" glass negative carrier can be used, but would prefer a
glass-less solution.

Wall Cover Printing14 Feb 2006 04:50 GMT1
I have access to a HP Designjet 2500 and InDesign CS2. I would like to
print in ( 30 feet x 18 feet) in tiles to cover a wall. The document
size is to large for InDesign.
Any advices how to do this? I have a vague memory of a specialized
Lenses from laser printers13 Feb 2006 05:52 GMT5
Do laser printers have lenses suitable for LF use?  I am retiring a
Hewlett Packard HP6L but before recycling it, would like to salvage its
parts.
If so, how do I find the lens?
Dry Mounting Epson 9600 Prints12 Feb 2006 22:31 GMT2
I am planning to dry mount two relatively large 44x72" prints. I am
using the seal 500T which should be fine. Have anyone tried mounting in
sections (the 500T is only 26" wide). Can you use more than one piece
of dry mount adhesive? Is mounting to plexiglass ok (is it too hot?).
Puzzling12 Feb 2006 02:47 GMT5
I was talking to one of the guys at Midwest Photo Exchange today about
the LF business. He was saying it was going gangbusters, that he was
ordering 20 (or was it 60?) 4x5's a month (or was it every three
months?), and ordering lenses from Nikon in Japan all the time. I told
