I've just "graduated" to an old, very affordable but good conditioned, MPP monorail from my Microtechnical Mk VI. First thing I noticed when trying to use it, is that the focus knobs are on the RHS of the rail, only. Being right-handed, I normally hold the lupe in my right hand to ...

Is there a guide to lensboard openings for various shutters? What size opening should I get for a 90mm Angulon (4x5, non-super) and 270mm Arton? Looking forward to exploring the wonderful world of LF with my recently acquired OmegaView.

| LF+scan+print: Case study, with prints | 26 Jan 2006 16:03 GMT | 241 |
Sounds ambitious, and maybe it is. I propose to show you a 24 x 30" print, made from scans of LF film. Alas, I can only show you a mere /scan/ of said print. It's the best I can do with this medium.

| Digital manipulation is unacceptabe, at least in ... | 26 Jan 2006 07:20 GMT | 8 |
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/24/science/24frau.html I'd put that test against ANY image claiming to be not digital. That would probably eliminate 80% of photo.net crap

| Looking for a tall tripod | 23 Jan 2006 14:33 GMT | 5 |
I am working on a project that requires a tall tripod. I have the Gitzo 1325, but it only goes to 58". I would like to find one that goes to at least 80" without a center column. My Technika always seemed to wobble on a center column. Any suggestions?

| View Camera Magazine | 22 Jan 2006 18:07 GMT | 21 |
I still subscribe to View Camera magazine even though I don't use my view camera anymore. I switched to 6x7 a few years ago when the hassle of getting through airports got to be too much. In addition since I now print digitally the quality difference
