| mounting G Claron 240 | 30 Sep 2005 21:05 GMT | 6 |
I just got my hands on a barrel G-Claron 240. I have been reading some archives and most mention mounting it in a Copal #1 with no spacing adjustments required. Can someone confirm the same results for Compur 1 shutters ?

| Fresnel screen | 29 Sep 2005 22:55 GMT | 7 |
I'm finding my way with 5x4 (or is it 4x5?) LF photography. Have just got a (1970s) 90mm f8 Super Angulon, and am wondering whether I'd benefit from replacing my plain gg screen with a Fresnel type. (It's sure dark in the corners! and I do have a viewing cloth.)

| element separation repair | 29 Sep 2005 18:54 GMT | 5 |
Anybody had experience having this repaired? I had a Tessar separation re-cemented almost forty years ago, but don't know who does this now, and what the success and risks are.

| My first LF experience (long) | 29 Sep 2005 15:37 GMT | 25 |
After two years of agonizing over it, and taking the 645 route for awhile as an upgrade to 35mm for landscapes, I finally bit the bullet and purchased a used Cambo SCII-R and a Rodenstock Sironar-n 150mm lens. I used ebay to order some fidelity and riteway film holders, 7

| Zeiss Ikon Nixe? | 27 Sep 2005 17:22 GMT | 21 |
I have got one of these old cameras. A 551/17 model which is for 9x12 cm sheets or rollfilm. It seems that 4x5" sheets fits in the film plate holders. It has a Tessar 135/4,5 lens in a Compur shutter. Shutter runs....even at 1 sec.

There's been a lot of talk about digital replacing film, and I can see how digital can (or maybe has) replaced 35mm or even 120. Large format seems to be a different animal. It's a slow process with very high quality when you nail an image. A "good" day of photography might be 6

| 1200 DPI | 21 Sep 2005 16:41 GMT | 7 |
I have an Epson 2450 scanner and I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to upgrade to say a 4990. Most of my prints are through a 1280 printer, and and I can "borrow" time on 4000 for a few prints. So as I do a simple calc... (300 dpi x 16" print)/4 inch neg = 1200 dpi. It looks

| Beginner question: subject plane in certain landscapes | 20 Sep 2005 18:02 GMT | 4 |
I am completely new to LF photography, though I did post here about 2 years ago when I first started thinking of getting into it. I shoot primarily landscapes with a 645 SLR, and a bit of architecture from time to time, mostly churches.

| red leather bellows | 18 Sep 2005 02:51 GMT | 4 |
I know this subject must have been covered at various times in the past but, for my benefit, I'd like some information on red leather bellows for large format field cameras. I've heard there is a company in the United Kingdom that makes them. Does anyone have any contact
