| Lens Wanted | 30 Aug 2005 18:51 GMT | 19 |
I am looking for a lens for a projection project. It needs to be 100mm in diameter or bigger, a focal length of 450mm and have a field of view of 40+ degrees. Is there such a lens anywhere? Or a lens that's close to those specs? Thanks for any help.

| light holder leak FOLLOWUP | 23 Aug 2005 22:11 GMT | 5 |
I think I've narrowed down my problems with light leaks to a bad batch of film from photowarehouse.biz. It seems that 1 in 5 sheets of 4x5 had fogging spreading from one edge where it was most intense to about half of the sheet before it cleared out. Over the last 6 months, I've ...

| Where would a 4x5 holder leak? | 23 Aug 2005 01:34 GMT | 24 |
I suspect a light leak in one of my Regal or Fidelity 4x5 film holders. Before I fill them all up with photographic paper, what are the typical culprits for leaking light? Where is it most likely that light would get in?

| 8x10 ground glass anecdote | 21 Aug 2005 04:26 GMT | 6 |
Hello Group - Saturday evening I was photographing an elderly woman 4 hours from town - when I opened my camera bag, lo and behold, the ground glass was in shards. Pieces everywhere. I think the culprit was tossing the bag around with a

| shutter sources | 21 Aug 2005 01:01 GMT | 2 |
I have several old lenses I'd like to experiment with that don't have shutters. They are in a range of types and sizes from a big fat aero lens to a tiny old Dagor, and probably won't all turn out to be worth using, so something adaptable is needed. I believe a

| Photo backpack rain problem | 19 Aug 2005 02:32 GMT | 20 |
I have been hiking in the Colorado rockies with my photo gear (1D Mark II digital and 4x5 cameras) in a LowePro Photo Trekker AW backpack. I've used this backpack for several years from Florida to Alaska, but never in serious rain. Well, the

| Film Calibration Quandary | 16 Aug 2005 05:12 GMT | 19 |
I have 100 sheets of unexposed 4x5 film given to me by my dad. He has no idea at what ISO the film is rated, only that is E-6 process. I tried to compare the notching to many known films, to no avail. I want to conduct some test shots in the studio under precise lighting in an

| Pin holes, do they matter? | 15 Aug 2005 14:39 GMT | 1 |
Do pinholes matter, and if so, how much? Are they worth the expense of new bellows? I took a few pictures, and they seemed all right, the nagging question is how much better would the image be without pinholes in the bellows.

| Polaroid MP-4, strange adapter tubes, mystery | 15 Aug 2005 04:02 GMT | 11 |
I recently bought some Polaroid MP-4 Lenses. These are optimized for 1:1 or greater magnification, and I intend to use them with 35mm gear and a bellows. The MP-4 lenses cover 4 x 5, so I should be able to use tilts and swings in the 35mm macro format. Once I got them mounted, they ...

| Velvia 100 (New) "My Impressions" | 14 Aug 2005 23:35 GMT | 2 |
I got ahold of the new Velvia in 120 and 35mm. I've shot about tree rolls total out of the six I initially bought. It appears to have really fine grain on the light box and scans very well. The impression I have of the color is that it quite accurate to the way my eyes ...

| Uh-Oh!! Just got my FreeStyle catalog--!! Bye-Bye relabeled Ilford!! | 12 Aug 2005 07:28 GMT | 17 |
I see the Arista Sheet films (Ilford FP4/HP5) I'm so fond of are being replaced by another film called Arista II ( ? on manufacturer though they still make reference to England as origin but not Ilford apparently)--as well as the printing paper which I assume may now be produced ...
