Kalart Range Finder31 Jul 2005 19:03 GMT6
I popped off the Kalart range finder cover. It is a nice setup to work on
and the glass cleaned up nicely.  The RF has obviously been adjusted before.
I'll be making the adjustments in the clear light of early tomorrow morning.

My mother bought a studio from a photographer who left behind a bunch
of equipment.  Can anyone give me an idea of what the following

archival film preservers30 Jul 2005 05:19 GMT1
I just reached for another package of Print File 4x5 archival
preservers and noticed the package is different:
These are plastic sheets that fit in a 3-ring binder and hold
negatives, transparencies and prints.  I have:
Some Experiences with Re-cementing Lenses29 Jul 2005 01:20 GMT2
Some Experiences with Re-cementing Lenses
I recently re-cemented two lenses. There was a learning
curve and I want to share what I found out.
The two lenses were a Kodak Ektar f/4.5, 152mm and a
How to calibrate light meters?28 Jul 2005 06:16 GMT8
A recent bad experience with a Pentax Spotmeter V that suddenly
decided to make me overexpose by 2 stops has prompted me to
wonder about the specifics of lightmeter calibration.  Not as in
"send the meter off for calibration", but more like "build myself an
Bob Salomon--Need Linhof Technika info for older 5x727 Jul 2005 23:44 GMT3
Well I just picked up a very nice 5x7 Technika for $500 (hopefully worth
that!), bellows looks great but I do need a GG for it. Which model GG do I
need--I want a 1 cm Grid and I see B&H lists a gridded 5x7 GG  for a
Technikardan or other model--Is this the same application? Also ...
Linhof Literature on that a-site27 Jul 2005 17:49 GMT1
I regularly see Linhof literature on that auction site and wonder if these
folks are auctioning things that Linhof gives away. Any clues?
(BTW - I have to type "that auction site" because my ISP is smart enough to
REJECT all posts that spell out you-know-what! Cool, eh?)
Too old to cut the mustard - so I am selling my photo gear.25 Jul 2005 00:38 GMT1
Have some pretty neat personal stuff that I had acquired over the years
but unfortunately I am rather along in years and really can't use it
any longer.  The list includes some Nikon, Sinar 4x5 and Hasselblad
equipment.  No reaaonable offer refused.

I've got my heart set on a second hand Toyo 45F, why can't I find
one? Can any body help? I have scoured free ads: Amateur Photographer,
Robert White. Phoned most photographic shops in the southwest and
London. I have found a new Toyo CF on American web-shops and they will

Fuji Films processing18 Jul 2005 11:54 GMT3
Here's a couple questions-thoughts for someone to answer if
they can:
I have been using a local Q-Lab and my Kodak transparencies come out
great, nice color balance perfect exposures or at least as expected when
Enlarge pictures16 Jul 2005 17:25 GMT7
I need to enlarge some pictures that I have on my disc. I'd like to
know if there is software out there (inexprensive or free) that will
allow me to enlarge a picture/photo without losing the quality that i
am losing now.  I tried a sotware program before and it didn't work. It

New fuji 100 for 4 x 5?13 Jul 2005 23:07 GMT3
The new fuji 100 is supposed to be as good as Velvia (if you like that sort
of thing) at double the speed.  Is it likely to be available in 4 x 5, and,
if so, when?
