| Which will disappear first: color or B&W | 27 Jun 2005 21:06 GMT | 21 |
With Kodak ceasing production of B&W paper, I wonder which 4x5 they will produce longer: B&W (TMX), E-6 (E100), or C-41 (Portra 160)?? I figured that the only users of 4x5 will eventually be the fine-art folks who like B&W.

| Schneider Tele-Xenars | 27 Jun 2005 20:06 GMT | 13 |
Does anyone know the size of the circle of coverage for these older lenses? I'm particularly wondering about the 180mm f5.6, 240mm f5.5 and 270mm f5.5. Anything else (like flange distance) would be interesting, but its the circle sizes I'm really after. I could measure them, but I ...

| removing angulon lens elements | 26 Jun 2005 06:55 GMT | 9 |
I posted last week about an older angulon lens I'd found, and I've gone to a local camera place to ask advice on the smudge on the lens. It seems that it might be a streak of oil on the inside of the rear element, or it might be a deterioration of the coating, or both. It's

| Center filter for 121mm Super-Angulon? | 23 Jun 2005 11:55 GMT | 7 |
I seem to have lost the information I had about the proper centerfilter for the 121mm f/8 Super-Angulon. This lens has the 77mm filter thread. I know the filter is NLA from Schneider, but I can't recall its designation. I was sure I had a PDF about it somewhere on this

| 8x10 Ilford FP4+ under exposed by 1 stop--Got a question!! | 20 Jun 2005 22:15 GMT | 1 |
This is cross posyed in the darkroom group as well!! Well, I just shot about 14 8x10 negs of Ilford FP4+ of my 7 mo old Daughter--I was rather caught up in the moment and just used my flash meter and shot them--not an easy task with my wife/mother hen squawking the whole

| Schneider-kreuznach lenses made in Japan and Germany | 20 Jun 2005 00:14 GMT | 9 |
Are schneider-kreuznach lenses for 4 x 5 made in Germany necessarily better than or different from the same made in Japan (eg. 150mm)? Bob, your views would be greatly valued. Thanks. Nobody

| Pinhole maximum definition | 18 Jun 2005 17:18 GMT | 7 |
Dear folk, I am not quite sure of whether I am OT or not but I think I am not the only one who enjoy LF also with pinholes. My question is the following. I have taken photographs with a pinhole

| Scanning 5x4 negatives | 18 Jun 2005 09:40 GMT | 6 |
I'm hoping to make B&W A3+ prints from some 5x4 FP4+ negatives using my Epson 1270 printer. A friend with an Epson scanner with LF capability has offered to do the scans. What resolution would you recommend for this? (He seemed somewhat surprised

| FA: Informative "KODAK LENSES & SHUTTERS" Booklet | 16 Jun 2005 00:44 GMT | 1 |
Can you use a 127mm Ektar lens on a 4X5 camera? If so, what size mounting hole is needed? What size filter does it take? And how do those danged "series" filters and lens hoods work, anyway? These questions and hundreds more are answered in this little 60-page

| Photography Is Not Art, Chapter XXXVII | 15 Jun 2005 00:54 GMT | 25 |
So, if anyone cares, another bit of anecdotal evidence in support of my contrarian hypothesis. This one comes from a a cow orker of mine. I noticed they had a St. Adams poster on the wall by their desk, so I mentioned it by way of idle chit-chat.

| limited edition prints | 14 Jun 2005 05:14 GMT | 29 |
My question: to make prints for sale limited edition or not? A gallery is opening here in Colorado and will feature some of my photos. While I do sell over the internet, I do not try (really have no time right now). I've never sold more than 100 prints of any

| Unsolicited testimonial - Turner Bellows | 10 Jun 2005 19:02 GMT | 1 |
On 26 May I sent the original(!) bellows on frames from my recently-acquired Improved Seneca View (whole-plate format) to Turner Bellows in Rochester, NY, for replacement. A few days later I received a nice reply from Joe Merry quoting 5-6 weeks turn - no problem, I was still ...

| Linhof, Technica V, light coloured, or black? | 10 Jun 2005 09:38 GMT | 8 |
I have recently purchased on e-bay a Linhof described as Technica V - light coloured (beige like). It has a lever for raising the lens. (I assume this to be a master technica, uless I am wrong). Should I have bought the more recent black version? Are there any difference between ...
