Old Calumet 4X5 questions16 Mar 2005 16:58 GMT10
i just purchased an old calumet 4X5, it's silver, i think it's the
CC-400 model. It has a spring back, but it doesn't appear that I can
change the back from a horizontal to a vertical position. It looks like
it was built fixed in the horizontal position. Is there a way to change

Anyone check out this magazine?  It makes me want to go out and shoot.
http://www.shotsmag.com/  The web page doesn't do the magazine justice.

Shen-Hao Finish (or, just playin with my new extension bellows)12 Mar 2005 01:10 GMT33

This is not intended to be derogatory of the Shen-Hao HZX 4X5-IIA; I like
the camera and have no intention of replacing it.  I may eventually get a
nice 4x5 rail camera to augment it for in studio work.  Of course, I need a

G-Claron vs. APO-Ronar09 Mar 2005 06:16 GMT4
Are G-Clarons and APO-Ronars of about the same quality for copy work? I
realize that many people also use them closer to infinity, but that is
not my question.
Thanks,
hairline surface crack in teak09 Mar 2005 02:35 GMT34
I have a teak Shen Hao 4x5 field camera that is a couple months old
(purchased brand new)
I carefully removed the screws holding in the clips that retains the
ground glass to try out a different glass (SatinSnow).  After doing so, I
LF Cameras Compared08 Mar 2005 15:09 GMT2
Is there a web site which compares, in spreadsheet format, the
different capabilities of the different LF cameras? Thanks.
Regarding G Clarons07 Mar 2005 13:13 GMT6
I already have two of the regular  type (150/9 & 210/9).
I know there are also 240, 270 & 305mm G Clarons.
Now I have seen a 240mm f11 G Claron WA.
Are they a special variant with greater coverage?
What Scanners are you using for LF?07 Mar 2005 06:26 GMT27
What scanners are folks using for 4x5 film?
Would love to hear what folks are using,
how it works for them, and what scanners
you all lust after.
Harringon Quadtone RIP04 Mar 2005 16:46 GMT10
Roy Harrinton has a new version of his Quadtone RIP for Epson 2200. The new
version supports more paper and custom sizes. I have found this piece of
software a real life saver. Neutral B&W from the 2200.
This is more or less on topic because I scan 8x10 negs and use the 2200 in
graflarge04 Mar 2005 10:24 GMT2
Does anybody have ideas, plans or experience in building something like a graflarger to convert my Graphlex or Sinar into an enlarger?
Does the lightsource go directly on instead of the focussing screen?

Schneider Lenses - understanding what's what03 Mar 2005 22:27 GMT7
I'm trying to put together some lenses for a 5x4 but am puzzled by the
numerous names and versions of the Schneider lenses. Is there a succinct
summary somewhere which lists the old and new versions and possibly their
relative merit?
WTB : shutter02 Mar 2005 22:34 GMT7
I need a Synchro-Compur #1MX (42mm mounting hole)  shutter for parts. I
would like to find one that has munged threads, as that way likely the
rest of it is still useable for spare parts. I have one which has badly
worn moving parts, but is repairable and has good lens mounting ...
Aperture question01 Mar 2005 15:13 GMT8
I've bene lurking for some time, and a couple of weeks ago, almost as an
impulse purchase, I got hold of an old MPP Mk VI, upgraded to Mk VII spec,
on eBay, which I've been having tremendous fun with (can play with it for
hours, even without taking any photos).
