| old schneider lens | 31 Mar 2005 01:55 GMT | 8 |
I've been shooting 35mm since I was a kid and lately been doing digital. I've wanted for a while to get into medium or large format, but have been waiting till I have a little more money to burn. So this afternoon a lens fell into my lap and I'm wondering whether to

| Back in Time | 30 Mar 2005 03:44 GMT | 28 |
I wonder how many people that read this group, would go back in time if they could? To what era and for what purpose? Personally to the late 1800's -1880-1890 when big cameras were really big :-)

| help selecting carbon fiber tripod legs | 28 Mar 2005 21:51 GMT | 7 |
I'm getting to the point where I can't carry all my large format equipment like I used to (getting old sucks!) I really love the stability and rigidity of my Bogen 3021BPRO legs, but they are quite heavy to hike with.

| A little depressing - or liberating? | 28 Mar 2005 02:23 GMT | 11 |
I was chatting with my new neighbor over snow shovels this morning. He's a professional photographer and is selling out his Sinar LF system (three or four lenses, dozens of 4x5 film holders, w/a bellows, F2 body... and more...) for dirt cheap. Really cheap. Why? To keep up with ...

| LF drum scan technology | 26 Mar 2005 21:33 GMT | 6 |
I use 8x10 ASA50 Fujichrome to make 48x72-inch Vibrachromes (similar to Ilfochrome) but have been informed by Duggal Visual Solutions in New York that Ilfochrome is no longer available in this size and Vibrachrome is stopping production. I was destroyed. Duggal made a drum scan on ...

After some months of testing and some user input, I've come to the place where I'd like to introduce a new product. This forum has been a wealth of information and contacts, and I thought you should be the first to know.

| Using a rollfilm back on my Crown Graphic | 24 Mar 2005 23:42 GMT | 7 |
I have a 6x7 roll film back for my 4x5 Crown Graphic and would like to know what viewfinder mask I should use. Sorry if this is a very obvious point, but I assume I will need a mask to match the coverage of the roll film back.

| Xenotar 135mm f/3.5 coverage question | 22 Mar 2005 22:12 GMT | 2 |
I have just acquired a 135mm Xenotar f/3.5, and I'm somewhat surprised by the coverage it seems to give. Schneider claim on their website that it gives a 153mm image circle at f/16 and infinity focus, which *just* covers 5*4, and indeed a search of various web forums, as well as ...

| Informal survey on roll film | 21 Mar 2005 22:04 GMT | 34 |
What discontinued roll film would you like brought back to the market? And don't just confine this to large/medium format. In other words 828 would be an OK response as well. I don't want to lead into this with my own choice, but would instead like to see the desires of others.

| Loading an Eastman Kodak No. 1 (1926-32) | 21 Mar 2005 00:00 GMT | 1 |
I just found a Kodak No. 1 folding camera at this little antiques store in Oregon. I believe it takes 120 6x9 film but I'm actually unsure. Does anyone know how to load film into one of these cameras? Jimmy

| Aerial cameras | 20 Mar 2005 23:53 GMT | 4 |
I recently happened across a pile of WWII vintage Fairchild aerial cameras and bought them all, knowing nothing really about them at the time except that the lenses looked very impressive. I have since learned quite a bit about their interesting history. Now I am wondering what to ...

| Gluing Bellows to Frame | 19 Mar 2005 01:45 GMT | 4 |
I want to swap the ends of a couple of old bellows - ie. take off the frame part at the end of the bellows that clips into the camera, and then re-glue each them onto the other bellows. Both the bellows in question are a pleated card outer lined with fabric, one
