Using Jobo Tank w/ Hand Agitation?20 Feb 2005 19:50 GMT6
Since getting hooked on LF, I have done all color except
for a few Polaroids.  I'm thinking about playing with real
B&W film, and I'll need to process my own film.  I have
done 4x5 using frames with dip and dunk tanks, but I don't
210 lens 19 Feb 2005 05:35 GMT11
I'm looking for a good 210 lens for still-life /4*5 camera. Is there anyone who know the differences between the two lenses; schneider apo-symmar "L" lens and rodenstock sironar "S"?  Which one is better?
5x4 - How to measure film /plate register ?19 Feb 2005 01:08 GMT3
I have a 5x4 MPP Microtechnical camera Mk. VI.  I'd like advice on how to
measure the register, or more specifically between which points should the
measurements be taken.  Data on the MPP user's club website states 0.2"
(5.08mm) for my model.  My measurements using a checked ...
Need some dead 8x10 film19 Feb 2005 00:29 GMT13
I'm looking for a few sheets of 8x10 film, any type, exposed or
not, expired or not.  I need to experiment with cutting it down to
determine the proper size to fit all my recently-acquired 6.5x8.5
holders.  I'm willing to pay postage if need be, but would prefer
240mm lenses16 Feb 2005 18:32 GMT23
I have a 4x5 camera (Wisner and a Toyo G) and am interested in buying a
240mm lens for it. I've used one in a workshop and like the 1:1 ease,
etc. BUT, there are many types (as usual) and the prices can vary a
lot. I shoot B&W almost exclusively; a combination of stills, people
Relevence and accuracy of bubble levels mounted on VC15 Feb 2005 23:01 GMT6
Do they amount to a placebo, making us feel "squared"?  Are they only
supposed to be generally accurate; and thus, they are cheap add-ons?  With
all the digital gadgetry is there a universal add-on that beeps or lights up
when the camera is "squared"  ?  Could this be the point of ...

reality check15 Feb 2005 04:00 GMT22
My question is going to be: Does my plan sound realistic?
Brief background: I own an Omega (Toyo) monorail camera, a Caltar 210 E,
and a Schneider 90 Angulon 6.8. I have a 4x5 enlarger, and I have used
it to make prints from my camera, but it hasn't been set up in several
Disappointed with Badger Graphic Service11 Feb 2005 03:57 GMT73
Hey, they delivered, don't get me wrong, but I had several questions before
I purchased, and all answers were brusque and minimal.  Ok, no biggy, so I
bought the camera (Shen Hao for $625).  A few days later I was told it would
be shipped the following week via UPS.  I waited til ...

Traveling to Colorado with LF?10 Feb 2005 00:55 GMT33
I'll be visiting my friend in Boulder, Colorado in the beginning of April.
My friend showed me his photos of the nearby parks and landscapes and he
said to me: "you should come here with your 4x5 camera so we could shoot
some chromes". I believed him and I'm planning to take my ...
size of a 7x17 holder09 Feb 2005 16:04 GMT4
I am thinking to DIY a 7x17 camera, but I could find the dimension
information of 7x17 film holders, what are the length*width*depth of a
7x17 film holder? and what is the "distance" between the film plane and
holder surface?
Old Dr. Krugener Preminar Lens09 Feb 2005 01:35 GMT5
I've just acquired a lens that I know vritually nothing about, and wondered
if anyone could enlighten me...
Around the bezel is written:
"Dr. R. Krugener's. Doppel Anastigmat. Preminar. F = 128. 1:6,8."
Ground polycarbonate?08 Feb 2005 19:21 GMT6
As I contemplated replacing the groundglass in my recently-
acquired Seneca Improved View (full-plate size), I suddenly
wondered if anyone has ever attempted to use polycarbonate
sheet.  This would solve the breakage problem, the stuff is
