I just received one of these, s/n 1218.  It is in barrel, the rear of
the barrel is threaded M40x0.75, i.e., screws into the front of a #1
shutter.  The lens appears to be a triplet, with two elements in front
of the diaphragm and one behind.
View lens coverage question?22 Jan 2005 18:45 GMT6
Hi, I was wondering if someone could answer
a question concerning view camera lens coverage.
I've noticed that when a lens is being
talked about, someone, for example, might say
ebay insanity hits again22 Jan 2005 04:01 GMT8
And ya know what? It probably went to a COLLECTOR who will put it on a shelf
and never use it.

Linhof shutter21 Jan 2005 17:36 GMT9
I have the opportunity to buy a 150mm Linhof-Schneider Symmar lens in a
Linhof shutter.  I know that Schneider makes the lens, but who makes the
shutter?  Is it any good?

Retaping Riteway holders21 Jan 2005 01:31 GMT8
I recently got hold of a stack of nice Riteway 4x5 holders.
Some of these need retaping as I can see pinholes through
parts of the hinges when opened and held up to a bright
light.

That's Wisconsin and amateur radio, for the uninitiated.
Just curious
1) who the fellow Wisconsin residents and frequent visitors are among
us?

Linhof Kardan Super Color ST19 Jan 2005 11:55 GMT15
I'm offered one in excellent condition for $375.  I can't find any current
or completed on ebay, thus I have no way of knowing if this is a fair price
or not.  Is there anyone around here that does?
Caltar II-N f4.5 75mm Lens - no light falloff?18 Jan 2005 22:00 GMT35

Claim: "Does not require a center, neutral density filter... for light
fall-off"
Is this just bull, or is the lens perhaps for MF?
OMG -  A Linhof Technika Focal Plane Shutter18 Jan 2005 14:36 GMT13
Linhof Technika Focal Plane Shutter - someone please tell me it's unreliable
or anything to discourage me from trying to buy it. :) I'm seriously trying
to work up a rear shutter for the new camera prototype and all the Graflex
units did not work out.
SuperAngulon 65/816 Jan 2005 14:14 GMT10
Now that I have the infamous Copal#0 board for my 6x9 Horseman, I'll
start using my SuperAngulon 65/8.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find many info about this lens.
I know it's single-coated; design is 6 elements in 4 groups; rear

I am just getting in to LF photography and am looking to buy a camera. A friend has offered to sell me his Kodak Master View 4x5 with a Sumar S 150mm lens for $1200 USD obo. I haven't been able to find much info on this camera (or the lens) but the price seems a bit high.
Anyone ...
bad condenser lenses14 Jan 2005 12:05 GMT2
I believe my Omega DII has a bad set of condenser lenses.  I've tried
cleaning both pieces of glass and swapping them, but I still get a few
white spots on my prints.  In fact, I can even get the spots to appear,
without any negative, on my baseboard by adjusting the focus.  Another
