Forum Response Critics14 Dec 2004 20:13 GMT57
What is amazing to me is that so many of the critics of my posts who claim that
I am not specific enough in my responses are only coming on to complain about
me. Their posts do not respond to the original question at all. My posts are
intended to give newcomers a variety of ...
can Cokin filters be cut?14 Dec 2004 19:57 GMT4
I have one of those "snap-in" filter holders that takes 3x3" filters.  I
see that Lee polyester filters are reasonably priced at $12 each.  But I'm
also looking for a graduated ND (and possibly a polarizer), however the
glass ones sold by B&W and Tiffen are over $100! Cokin filters ...
Closest focusing distance for 12x20 camera14 Dec 2004 14:50 GMT8
Hi there, I was wondering if someone would know how to
calculate the closest focusing distance that a camera would have
if it had a 24 inch bellows (what I believe the Korona 12x20
camera has) and is used with both the 355 G-Claron and 450mm
This tripod13 Dec 2004 19:32 GMT18
Still looking for the ultimate tripod.
See this: http://fineartphotosupply.com/Tech%20QL%20Tripod.htm
I like the fact that it has no center column (the weakest part of any field
tripod), but it looks very, very much like a typical surveyor's tripod, but

Exactly.  And imagine this is the state of the art anti-terrorism tool at
the government's disposal.
Seriously, I have suggested to my close photographer friends that this
article is a hoax,  The only problem is I'm not sure. I think the writer
New pro photography "how to site"10 Dec 2004 17:31 GMT4
I've started a professional photography "how to" site where I show a
photo that I did and the I explain how I did it.  Including lighting
diagrams.  I'd be interested in what you guys think of it.
Thanks
An average lens for still life photography?10 Dec 2004 12:49 GMT14
I entered in the world of LF photography since few months. I usually shoot
architecture/landscape. Now I'd wish to start experimenting with some still
life and close up photography. I do not own own lenses shorter than 135mm or
lenses optimized for 1:1 reproductions. For beginning I ...
NYTimes Dec 909 Dec 2004 21:27 GMT2
Hold on to your view cameras!  Apparently the NYTimes and national security
interests have discovered large format.    See the Times for the article:
"Tome Swift's New Camera, Ready for Space and Skies".
Here's a link but you may need an I.D. and it's probably only available for
LF photography takes patience...08 Dec 2004 22:20 GMT11
With the yammerings going on in this group, I wonder just how many
people are actually making photographs?
LF photography takes quite a bit of patience.  It's slow and deliberate
from beginning to end.  It seems to encourage contemplation, some sort
S&N - Rodenstock APO Sironar-N and S differences?08 Dec 2004 15:11 GMT17
What's the fundamental difference between the Rodenstock APO Sironar-N and S
lenses?
I see that Chris Perez's tests give a whopping 20 to 30 lp/mm superiority to
the 210S over the 210N.
A new Happier newsgroup :-)08 Dec 2004 06:24 GMT3
Sheer bliss, ah!!!
Funny thing is when I open the group
in my newsreader there were 29 articles but apparently my kill file
is working great,....seems like I was mislead,....there's really only
8x10 wide angle08 Dec 2004 05:11 GMT13
I'm looking for a lens for 810 format.  Can anyone recommend a lens in the
150mm range, which will cover 810 format.  I want something used, under $500
USD.

Hugo Meyer convertible plasmat lens07 Dec 2004 22:22 GMT3
I have got old large format stuffs from my grand uncle. Within this "package" there is a lens from I don't know anything about.
Here are all the informations I picked up by inspection.
The cell mounted on the front is engraved "Plasmat lens 1:8 foc. 6 3/4 inch Nr 782213"
The cell ...
Novice question - Wollensak Verito 11.5"  lens06 Dec 2004 14:56 GMT36
I have a Wollensak Verito 11.5" Diffused focus lens
and would like to know what camera body (or bodies) it
would be suitable for. I'm on a limited budget so am
looking for something in the lower price range.
Wista SP question06 Dec 2004 13:36 GMT6
To add on to my other thread (about the Canham DLC), I'm also looking at a
Wista SP which is about half the cost of the Canham. As I gather more
opinions about the DLC, I'd like to get some feedback on the Wista as well.
I'm more of a fan of center tilts than I am of the Canham's ...
