Polaroid 545 back09 Nov 2004 19:28 GMT3
Here is a foolish question from a newbie.  I just purchased a
Polaroid back for my 4 X 5 Omega on Ebay. It looks like this back will
use any Polaroid 4 X 5 sheet film.  Will it take Polaroid Type 72 ?
7x17 ULF users - short lenses?09 Nov 2004 06:44 GMT16
OK, I'm like a kid in a candy store.  The photoswap last weekend helped
me empty my toy fund.  Sold a couple things.  Bought a couple things.
Now I need to sell a couple things.  But that's over in another
newsgroup or two.
For you LF guys--I've recently acquired some long barrel lenses (400-600mm) !06 Nov 2004 22:49 GMT1
Yes I know this isn't LF marketplace-but this is my frequented newsgroup! I
recently acquired several long lenses for 8x10 and 11x14 use. Most are
barrel lenses mounted on Deardoff 6x6 boards--all terrific glass. A few in
shutters. One 24" RD Artar in Ilex#5--very nice.A 14" Ektar, ...
ID-ing LF negatives06 Nov 2004 01:15 GMT5
I've just acquired a 50 year old 5x4 MPP Micro-Technical camera kit, and
having been accustomed to film edge numbering in 35mm and MF roll-films
etc., I'm wondering how you experienced guys identify your precious
negatives.  At the moment, I'm processing each negative singly (in an ...
Knoppow on Kalert RF05 Nov 2004 12:02 GMT3
This stuff works fine and is the right thickness. The
piece costs about $15 US and is enough to make several
mirrors.
I've meant to write a procedure for replacing it to
Kalart rangefinder04 Nov 2004 23:47 GMT9
I have a Crown Graphic w a 135mm.
Have any of you ever disassembled a Kalart rangefinder to clean up the
inside of the glass and maybe the mirrors.
Also, I have heard of re-silvering the mirrors in rangefinders. I don't know
What is a Field Camera, really?04 Nov 2004 20:58 GMT7
Straighten out this old man - I always considered a 'field camera' one which
was made to be a view camera thyat  folded into itself for rugged packing,
ideally as a 'clam shell' kind of arrangement. The Speed or Crown Graphic,
or Linhof Technika would be an example.
Question on Convertible Lenses04 Nov 2004 20:23 GMT16
I'm planning to get a Schneider convertible lens. I own a field camera* with
~32cm maximum extension bellows/rails. I'd like to have a Symmar 240mm that
can be converted to 420mm... Question is: by removing the rear element
instead of the front element as suggest by Schneider, will ...
Not even a newbie question re: 4x5 camera04 Nov 2004 19:02 GMT18
I've recently come into posession of a WWII vintage 4x5 format camera.  I
know little, forget that, nothing about this, but am interested in finding
out what/who/where I could get information on restoration, value, etc....
I am in the Chicago area.
hopeless newbie question04 Nov 2004 16:43 GMT8
Apologies for the post, but I've read all the FAQ's, the books, and so
forth.  I've got my Crown Graphic with the Graflex back and a bunch of
other backs, and am about to start taking some test shots.
My question: do I take the backs to the lab and they'll take the film
what light meter do you use?04 Nov 2004 10:54 GMT9
I have been in a bit of a slump lately and would like for your  help. Many
of my slides are either over exposed or under exposed.  I have been shooting
with large format for about 4 years now (4x5 arca swiss with various  lenses
from 90mm to 400mm using color transparencies, velvia ...
A field camera to mount <65mm lenses?02 Nov 2004 23:36 GMT7
I'm an amateur and I have a graflex super graphic camera... I like doing
architecture and landscape photography. Since I'm shooting interiors, I'd
really like to use a wider lens... The widest I have is a 90mm Grandagon...
I'd like to have something similar to a 20mm focal or less ...
8x10 Dupe Film Question02 Nov 2004 20:01 GMT2
I recently bought some slightly outdated C-41 film in 8x10 (Portra) and
11x14 (VeriColor)formats but included in the sale were 6 boxes of AGFA CRD
8x10 Dupe film (E-6). Considering the cost of 8x10 E-6 films--is this film
good/usable for general use? Any ideas of ISO if it is ...
graplex.org forum01 Nov 2004 20:50 GMT1
I registered at the Graplex.org forum and logged in, but I can't seem to
post. I get a message that says the forum is not in existence, yet, in the
forum there are recent posts.
Anyone know anything about this forum out there that can point me in the
De Vere Monorail?01 Nov 2004 20:13 GMT2
I am farily new to large format photography, but I have seen a De Vere
monorail camera that might be within my price range.
The camera seems in good condition, but will need new bellows and a new
focus screen.
