MF v LF22 Jul 2004 14:46 GMT40
I aplogise in advance if this has been posted before. I will post it in
the MF group also to get a different view.
I have a Mamiya 7 with 50, 80 & 150 mm lenses and only photograph
landscapes on a tripod using Fuji Velvia 50. All of my photos are taken
roll-film back: DOF question22 Jul 2004 03:08 GMT16
When using a 6x7 rollfilm back on a 4x5 camera (say with a 90mm lens), my
understanding is that you end up with a crop.  What about DOF?  Will it be
the same as using a 90mm lens designed for 6x7 on a MF camera body?  Or
will it be shallower because the image circle is much bigger?
Arca-swiss Discovery GG and Fresnel arrangement21 Jul 2004 22:37 GMT5
Hello, Group
I use a newly-purchased arca-swiss discovery that has the gg mounted
behind the fresnel; in other words, the fresnel is toward the lens.  I
bought this camera slightly used. Perhaps the first owner set it up
European 9x12 same as 4x5?21 Jul 2004 15:13 GMT3
I see some LF cameras for sale in Europe specified as "9x12". I know that
Efke film considers "9x12" a "European" size and is classified separately
from 4x5.
Are they actually different dimension films, or is this just a cross-over
More fun with a press camera21 Jul 2004 09:06 GMT1
I've been shooting so much film in my Crown Graphic
that I decided it was time to see what was available
in the way of daylight sheet ilm developing tanks.
What I ended up with was a Jobo 2521 tank and a
Canadian rockies or Lake Superior?21 Jul 2004 02:30 GMT7
I need help choosing a photo destination. For the last 4-5 years, my
wife and I have spent our vacation in Glacier Nat'l Park. We love the
place, but we're also looking for some new terrain. Our two picks are:
-Puskaskwa (the north shore of Lake Superior in Ontario)
Streaking on negatives19 Jul 2004 15:54 GMT5
I could use a bit of help with this problem. I have now exposed twelve
4x5 negatives since June 27'th. On that date I mixed up Rodinal, Kodak
Indicator Stop and Kodafix. I have not supplemented the mixtures by
"topping up" with concentrate, but I have increased the developing,

Will the lens board on a Speed Graphic accomodate current lenses or must it be
replaced or modified?

Silver Recovery...18 Jul 2004 05:05 GMT3
I'm interested in the venerable opinions of this ng about Silver
Recovery, specifically purchasing a used unit vs a new unit.
I want to do the right thing for the environment and have trepidations
about buying something like this used.
Makro-Plasmat?17 Jul 2004 22:16 GMT4
Everytime I see the word "Plasmat" on a lens, I usually see a massive
price tag.  What's so special about "Plasmat" lenses or are they just
collectible like early Elmars?
Satin snow ground glass17 Jul 2004 21:54 GMT1
Howdy...
I was going to order some groundglass from Satin Snow....the original glass on
my camera seems a lot dimmer than I think it should be and I hear that a finer
groundglass can give a brighter image.
electronic flash for speed graphic 4 x 517 Jul 2004 11:29 GMT3
I'm wondering what the brand of flash was used with the 4 x 5 speed graphics, and if
there is a place to check for them to be for sale.I know that all of the regular flash
tubes have been cannibalized for star wars lightsaber kits.
thanks,
