Starting camera - Part V29 Jun 2004 02:05 GMT2
After a trip to the camera store which has Canham, Toyo, Wista,
Linhof, Horseman among others I came away impressed with the Linhof
Technikardan and Horseman LE for monrail cameras and the Wista for a
field camera.  I'm curious what experience and views folks have with
How can I tell if I'm looking at the proper center filter?28 Jun 2004 11:53 GMT3
I'm thinking about a center filter for my 121mm Super-Angulon
for 5x7 use.  How can I tell which is which short of making some
negs?  Is there any way to tell by inspection?  I couldn't find
any useful guidance on the Schneider web site.

Hi, my name is Mark Baylin... A friend of mine is looking to buy
a Fuji 300mm F/5.6 L lens for his 4x5 camera and is asking me
for advice. I'm weak on the Fuji line of lenses and was wondering
if anyone out there has some experience with this lens. He

Lately, I've noticed that several people have been coming to the newsgroup
asking for comprehensive answers to the question "how do I get started in large
format?"
Micro tools europe question25 Jun 2004 21:47 GMT3
Has anyone had any dealings with Micro-Tools Europe? I have ordered online
some stuff a week ago for repairing one of my large format cameras, but
nothing has been charged from my credit card and they don't answer any
emails asking about when they are going to send the items.
Copal Shutters, Need Lubrication?25 Jun 2004 16:33 GMT3
Does a Copal Press 1 shutter need lubrication? I know that some photographic
shutters are designed to run dry, but I don't know if this is the case with
Copals. I cleaned one of my shutters which got stuck at the longer times
with a solvent. Now it works perfectly, but I am afraid ...
toyo lensboard copal 025 Jun 2004 16:32 GMT1
I just finally got all of the parts for my lf camera. The lens was the last
component. I went to put it on and, of course, the hole is about 1/16 to 1/8
to large . Can I assume that the lens hole needs to be fairly close? It's
probably for a # 1. Are there any adapters or shims or ...
recomend equipment for my purpose??25 Jun 2004 04:56 GMT17
I've never used large format before.  However I own an RB67 so I appreciate
the results that a larger negative can give.
I'm interested in 4x5 for two specific areas.

Starting camera - Part IV24 Jun 2004 20:12 GMT9
Yes, more questions, and I'm getting closer to understanding a large
format system, but the lenses are taking a lot of "Huh?'s".  Anyway,
here goes for more questions.
First, I've seen references to have "experts" put the lens on the
Stupid Question: Aperture24 Jun 2004 18:15 GMT8
I have mounted a lens into a shutter that has a mismatched aperture scale.
When the shutter's aperture reads F8, the blades are wide open for my
lens:  the diaphram blades are a tiny fraction of a millimeter larger than
the diameter of the middle lenses of my lens. Close enough for ...
LUC shutter repair24 Jun 2004 17:49 GMT1
I have a LUC shutter that's broken.
Specifically the post inside has come off the ring.
How much is this shutter worth and who would/could repair them?

Anyone have experience using 35mm tilt & shift ?24 Jun 2004 14:32 GMT3
Please forgive me for asking this question in lg. format NG. But I'm
hoping that you folks might know more about this, than the people at
smaller format NGs.
I've been invited to be to participate in an architectural project.
