Figuring out coverage for non square formats?23 May 2004 19:55 GMT28
     I understand the formula
     X^2 + y^2 =z^2
With X one side of the negative. Y the other. Z the diagonal and
therefore the coverage needed.
Effects of vibration on lenses and shutters23 May 2004 05:41 GMT17
Well it looks like I may be able to combine two of my favorite
hobbies, photography and motorcycling, soon. I just purchased a
oldy-but-goodie Yamaha XS750 which is perfect for touring. Plenty of
torque and good fuel economy.
View Camera conference22 May 2004 14:11 GMT39
We just finished this conference and from all we've heard from the attendees

the seminars. As always there are a few things we ...

Pentax Spotmeter III versus Spotmeter V21 May 2004 17:17 GMT1
I am looking to purchase an inexpensive 1 degree spotmeter, and the
Pentax Spotmeter V seems to be a good price/quality tradeoff. However,
I'm finding that the prices for the Pentax Spotmeter V are running
close to $200 ("inexpensive" being a relative concept). I am therefore

Operating Prontor-S shutter18 May 2004 09:47 GMT5
I don't know if anybody remembers my issue with an old Prontor-S
shutter that jammed at the first use. However, I mailed it to SKGrimes
and got it back clean and fixed a few days ago.
Now I encounter another problem - how do I leave the shutter open
PMK vs Pyrocat HD16 May 2004 20:58 GMT1
In the June/July issue of CameraArts we do a quick comparison between these two
developers with 35mm FP4+.
In the July/Aug View Camera we will look at these two developers with HP5+ and
the new version of Tri-X sheet films.
bellows16 May 2004 04:34 GMT9
I have been lurking here for a while, reading posts and learning what I
can. I am not a photographer, strictly a home-owner/hobbyist and have
never done anything even remotely adventurous with a camera, but for
many months now I have been thinking about building my own large ...
Underexposed is Better Than Overexposed with 64T???16 May 2004 04:04 GMT13
Is this true?
I have some 4x5 64T shots of a painting on mine, and one of
them is very much in focus, but slightly overexposed.
This can be fixed in Photoshop after i scan it, right?

I have a Schneider 240 that has no lens cap for the back element, which
is a major hassle.  Does anyone have a spare cap?  It appears to be 58mm.
Thanks,
Alistair
