xtol for 4x5 or what is best31 May 2004 18:04 GMT8
I am just getting back into 4x5 after many years and would like to
know what is a good developer for this film (TMAX 100)?
Any thoughts
Pondering purchase of a Graflex Press camera31 May 2004 15:21 GMT5
A co-worker told me a relative of his wants to sell a Graflex Press
camera. He (the relative) is a retired photographer. I think he
purchased the Graflex in the sixties or late fifties. It was used as a
studio camera. I know zilch about large format photography and even
Largest B&W Neg Film Size Available?30 May 2004 05:20 GMT4
I'm thinking of returning to B&W darkroom printing after a long
absence - I especially like the quality of contact prints from large
B&W negatives.  Can I still get 8"x10" B&W neg film?  Is this the
largest size - any chance of getting an even larger size?  Thanks.

looked at are fisheye lenses, are all .45x lenses fisheye ? or are

Sinar to Technika lens board adapter.28 May 2004 22:08 GMT3
I'd like to make an adapter that would let me use my Linhof Techika
boards on my Sinar P.  Has anyone made something similar?  I'm most
concerned with how the technica boards should be held on the Sinar
board.  Any suggestions?
small steps - the beginning28 May 2004 05:05 GMT7
My sweetheart and I were at a flea market in a nearby town yesterday,
and when I asked a vendor that we've bought a few things from over the
years if he had any really scrappy cameras that I could pick up cheap
"for parts", he gave me (for free) a Kodak Autographic 3A. This one ...
55mm Grandagon - 4x5?28 May 2004 01:24 GMT1
Anyone use this lens on their 4x5?
Bellows glue?26 May 2004 22:33 GMT6
I bought a replacement bellows for and old medformat folding camera but
assumed this group would be more appropriate for this question. The bellows
is pinched between the lens mounts on the front so that is taken care of
mechanically. But the back side, at the film gate, was ...
Canham MQC 5x7 vs. Wood & Metal 5x726 May 2004 15:05 GMT1
I am in the final stages of deciding between the all metal ("MQC") and "Wood
and Metal" Canham 5x7 cameras.  I plan on using 5x7 exclusively for black
and white fine art photography so the availability of a wide variety of
films is not an issue for me.
Adding spiked feet to tripod26 May 2004 12:56 GMT6
I'd like to add surveyor style spiked feet to a Gitzo G506 tripod.  I do
have a surveyor's tripod that I use.  The cam leg locks and the spiked
feet are very nice, but it's not very compact, and it's a real pain
shooting fairly low to the ground, which I do fairly often.  I ...
Clifford Ross R1 camera: highest resolution?25 May 2004 16:06 GMT14
In today's Denver Post, page 4A, is an article about
Clifford Ross, his 110-pound R1 camera he built, and the
spectacular "Mountain I" image that is on display in the
Sonnabend Gallery in New York through July 30.
Scanning 4x5 on epson 4870 at 16-bits/channel24 May 2004 08:53 GMT55
I bought an epson 4870 scanner today for the purpose
of scanning 4x5 fuji velvia.  I have done many tests
and I am very satisfied with the results, scanning at
4800 ppi and 48-bits, then downsizing to 3200 ppi but
another newbie question24 May 2004 04:11 GMT16
I don't see a newsgroup for "pinhole" cameras, so I hope y'all don't mind:
The question is;
Should I be able to see a preview image on "ground glass" thru' a
pinhole camera?
Graphic 120 roll film back for 4x524 May 2004 02:01 GMT2
6X8 ROLL FILM BACK FOR 4X5
Graphic 120 roll film back for 4x5
This a graphic 120 roll film back ( GRAFLEX Inc. model "23") for 4x5.
It works very very fine.
Empirical method to measure cell spacing?23 May 2004 23:13 GMT25
Say you have two matched cells for a Dagor (Claron, whatever) that
came from a barrel mount that is now lost and you want to mount them
in a shutter.  Is there some way to optically determine the correct
spacing?
