Drawing Grd Lines on Ground Glass12 Apr 2004 00:36 GMT3
Can someone suggest a way of drawing grid lines on plain 8x10 ground glass?
I'd like something that would be reasonably stable (i.e. wouldn't just rub
off in use) but that also could be removed if a mistake was made. I guess I
could always use a Sharpie pen and a ruler but I'm not ...

Any body know what the "A" stands for?  This is an enlarging lens I may bid on.
TIA

The deals on Ebay10 Apr 2004 20:46 GMT25
I've been keeping an eye on ebay lately, with a mind for purchasing a
large-format rig.  I'd really like the Shen-Hao, even if it doesn't offer
full movements, but there are none used on Ebay, and a new one with a lens
costs $1200.
Photography software for Palm10 Apr 2004 02:25 GMT6
I'm not looking for software to display digital photos.
What I want is software that would help me while making photographs.
I would like software to help with things like reciprocity compensation,
bellows extension, logging individual exposure information including zone
kodak readyload10 Apr 2004 00:33 GMT14
I have noted many threads claiming that the Fuji Quickload holder is
trouble free and the  Kodak is not. I prefer the Kodak films and would
like to hear from users as to their experience with the latest Kodak
single sheet holder.
Calumet 4x5 Gr. Glass & Lense $ ?09 Apr 2004 20:48 GMT2
Anyone have some suggestions on the costs of the ground glass and a good
lens for a Calumet 4x5?
I have NO experience with large format and would probably have to have
all my processing done by someone else.  I have a chance to get a 4x5

Wollensak-Raptar 135mm. F:4.708 Apr 2004 12:33 GMT6
I have two lenses. A Kodak EKTAR 127mm f4.7 and a Wollensak-Raptar
135mm. F:4.7.  From what I have read the EKTAR is the better lens.  I
sent the EKTAR to Paul Ebel for a CLA.  The Wollensak-Raptar looked
fine to me, but I wanted to send it to Paul and have him test it out.

I got the graflex I show you for a good price.
Thx for all your precious informations.

Use a 105mm Ektar on a 4x5?08 Apr 2004 12:18 GMT8
I realize that there could be few - or no - movements when using such
a lens, but is it possible to use straight (w/no rise/fall?)
Enlarging Lens08 Apr 2004 12:18 GMT3
I'm setting up my enlarger for 4X5 negative enlargements and am wondering what
difference I might expect to see in a 135mm lens versus a 150. I've been
looking at Componon-S and El-Nikors.
TIA

Xerox mechanical failure due to cover weight, No support from Xerox!!!!!07 Apr 2004 16:49 GMT20
This is a long problem so I will be as brief as possible. I own a
large format printing company and we decide that we have a good market
to make gift cards and smaller prints to a number of our accounts. I
started with Phaser 860 to test market, we hand feeding a Wausau Exact

Comparing 11x14 to 8x1006 Apr 2004 15:59 GMT6
I realize the equipment cost is almost exponential. :O
But is 11x14 more or less work than 8x10 in these respects ...
1. Dodge/burn contact prints
2. General film handling and processing
