I'd like to find some other LF users around Columbus with whom to get together.
Anyone want to start a little group?  email me.

Are the Sinar shutterless mounted lenses different?29 Apr 2004 17:29 GMT2
Do the the Sinar 'shutterless' mounted lenses have the same shutter mount
size, or are their lens threads modified for the Sinar mount? If it varies,
I'm particularly interested in the 121mm F8 Super Angulon. (The threads
appears to be 30mm OD on my crude caliper.)
What is available for WA for 8x1028 Apr 2004 13:33 GMT18
In my infinite quest for infinite ways to spend money on a hobby,
I now need to know what is available for WA for a 8x10 format
camera.  I am a WA user (24mm or less) in the 35 mm world.  I am
now foraging into the 8x10 realm.  Any suggestions for a lens
Clean Objects27 Apr 2004 22:56 GMT9
I'm shooting lots of detailed Jewellery for a catalogue with a digital
camera, and am trying to get a consistent colour background for all the
shots.
I can't use too many lights because the items are small.

Steve,
Wish I could go to something like this.
But it's too far and I have a day job.
I'd suggest doing
Shutters and apertures27 Apr 2004 11:56 GMT4
I've noticed that many older lenses have nonlinear aperture
scales.  By nonlinear I mean that the distance between
successive indicated f-stops varies as the lens is stopped
down.  In contrast, many modern lenses have linear scales,
Super high resolution prints on transparency in L.A.?26 Apr 2004 23:21 GMT5
I do live in Los Angeles and need to find someone who can produce a high res
print. I have created 'non-traditional' artwork (for some research) in
Illustrator which contains several thousand super fine lines at a thickness
of less than 1/10 of a millimeter. I need to have the file ...
Rubbing compound? Which one for ground glass?26 Apr 2004 05:28 GMT23
I'm likely going to order a scale from a jewellery supply house
[best price for the accuracy needed] they also sell quite a few different
compounds for polishing. I know somebody awhile back mentioned these could
be used for making a ground glass but which one? They've got a ...
My new old Tachihara 4x5 wood field26 Apr 2004 00:25 GMT2
Well, I parted with the Busch 'D'.  While it had many things going for it
(simple rotating back, tilt/shift, sturdy) it was just too heavy to
carry around.  I don't do a lot of that, but when I do the weight is
a challenge.
wista compendium25 Apr 2004 10:09 GMT3
I have a wista 45 DX and just received the compendium shade for it.
It does not come with instructions and appears impossible to attach it
to the camera without additional hardware on the camera.
Any help will be appreciated.
repairing dented lens flange25 Apr 2004 05:11 GMT9
My 150mm Rodenstock Sironar-N fell off the camera and the rear lens
flange is dented. Does anyone know of a source for such a part? My
camera repair shop wasn't helpful.

Sagging Bellows On Deardorff 8x1022 Apr 2004 20:06 GMT3
I recently purchased a Deardorff 8x10 camera that has a new bellows
installed. I discovered that with a 400mm lens on the camera, the lens panel
raised to its top position, the camera tilted up about 15 degrees to include
the top of a building in the photograph, and the lens and ...
Nikkor APO 420 f/9 ??21 Apr 2004 22:49 GMT1
Does anyone know anything about this lens?  I've looked around (google) and I
haven't been able to find specs.  What is the max format?  I suspect it will
cover 8x10 with movemements.  Perhaps it will cover 11x14??  Anyone know
anything about this lens?
