I got into large format for the purpose of making archival and reproduction quality transparencies of my art work, but i have to tell you, the photography itself is quite pleasurable! Far more interesting than the point and click world.

I have a 30 year collection of old negs and Transp I would like to scan, file ,label ,etc. What would be a good way to do it. I have flat bed scanner. I don't intend to print from scans just cataloged them. Should I use Photoshop then add info in photo shop?

I've been working on building my own 8X10 view camera for the past month during my spare time. It works great....no light leaks. I just got my first negatives back. Great results. Here is a picture of the camera:

We are now accepting images for our gallery. Here are the requirements - jpg's no larger than 125k - must be taken with a 6x8 or larger camera, color, black and white, Polaroid, alt process, etc.

I was looking @ a used Symmar 135mm the other day. It was cheap because ... ... when looking straight through it there was a dust on the elements. But the dust wasn't dark. Rather it sparkled.

If there is/are a scratch/es on a lens and if the picture is ok on the ground glass, is it safe to assume that the actual pictures taken with the lens will be ok too? Jani

anyone have a good supplier of really large b/w sheet film? i'm writing a proposal for an upcoming project that would need film as large as 72" x 84".... any ideas? i may have to work around, but am hoping i can track something down!
