Tominon 127mm Sweet Spot @ F1114 Feb 2004 05:11 GMT7
   I took shots at f11, f8, f5.6, and f4.5.
Turns out, f11 is the sharpest aperture for this lens, even a tiny
bit sharper than f16.  f22 was way blurry.
I might try renting the G-Claron 150mm again, and try more
What's missing in LF newbie online resources?14 Feb 2004 04:16 GMT41
Greetings, Y'all.  Maybe what we/steve needs is a more comprehensive
listing, posted periodically (weekly, bi-weekly?) to online LF resources?
I think a periodic posting of LF URL links and pointers would be handy for
newbies not sure where to start, as well as provide a LF FAQ for ...
efke and j&c classic?13 Feb 2004 17:14 GMT3
Has anyone had any experience with either the Efke pl100 or J&C Classic 4X5
film?  I see that they (J&C) suggest using pyro but I was wondering if anyone
has used either of these with d-23, split development or water bath
development.
Of bungies and will power...13 Feb 2004 08:46 GMT3
Following rafe's example for newbies, I'm posting the first neg to come out
of my new camera. It's not the work of art his was, but I'm still stunned to
speechlessness by the sharpness and detail. For a short while, these images
will be viewable at:
Happiness in LF12 Feb 2004 05:52 GMT12
Maybe to change the tone a bit, here's the story
of my first foray into LF over the last few days
and weeks.  I've been shooting 35 mm and MF
since I was a brat, and working mostly in the
Recommend 6x9 Roll Film Holder09 Feb 2004 18:02 GMT15
Any recommendations for a simple and inexpensive
120 or 220  roll film holder that fits a standard 4x5 field
camera back?
Is "graflok" the proper term to describe the standard
lens caps ?09 Feb 2004 15:25 GMT32
Most of the used LF lenses listed on ebay don't seem to have lens caps.
Do most LF photographers not use them ?  What to use instead?

arca swiss discovery with super angulon 75mm09 Feb 2004 14:36 GMT3
I'm thinking of using this combo for landscapes.  Will i need a bag
bellows for this lens on this camera?  does anyone know about the
quality of this lens, vintage late 70's, multicoated version?
thanks
Tominon 127mm Doesn't Match Shutter?09 Feb 2004 00:55 GMT17
Good Evening,
I looked at this on Ebay:

agename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1

And if you notice on the side:  it says 5 inches/127mm!
My first Impression of my  "new to me" Linhof Master Tech 4x5 and I hate the GG!08 Feb 2004 19:35 GMT4
I recently picked up a very nice but not perfect Linhof Master Technica
(4x5) $1300 (not bad for a Master Tech)). I must say it is very fast and
easy to set up compared to my Deardorff 4x5 Special plus more compact for
backpacking (My main interest in the Linhof). It included the ...
@@@ Sweet Spot Aperture for Tominon 127mm ??????????????08 Feb 2004 17:43 GMT16
I've gotten a very nice Tominon 127mm from Dave, in a really nice
shutter.
And i was wondering what the sweet spot is for this lens?  I mean
best compromise between coma and diffraction effects?  The aperture
Best non-backpack carrying case for monorail 4x5 (Arca-Swiss)?08 Feb 2004 16:26 GMT5
I recently bought an Arca-Swiss F metric 4x5.  Now I need a case for
the camera, three lenses, binocular viewer, polaroid holder, film,
etc.
I don't need a backpack for the camera because I'm going to shoot
Mamiya RB67 and M645 - Possibility for digital adapters?07 Feb 2004 19:50 GMT8
Do the older Mamiya RB67 or M645 have attachements or accesories that
can store images in digital form?
I recall that there was this newer Mamiya RZ67 which was supposed to
replace the RB, and it has electronic capabilities beyond the old

How Many Hands does it take...07 Feb 2004 16:03 GMT12
So you're under this focusing hood that
covers the upper half of your body.
You need one hand to hold a loupe up to
the ground glass, right?
