Identify these Notches?31 Dec 2003 00:56 GMT12
Hello, folks.  Total LF newbie here.
I've had posession of an old wooden
field camera for a while, and with it
"inherited" a bunch of film and pre-loaded
Opinions on new Sekonic meter30 Dec 2003 08:54 GMT2
This only on topic since no LF camera that I know of has a built in light
meter so we all have a handheld meter of some kind.
I've finally decided that my trusty old Sekonic 508 needs to be replaced.
After years of reliable service looseness<SP?> in the spot angle adjustment
8x10 coverage of a CM Fujinon W 210mm f5,630 Dec 2003 01:15 GMT6
CM Fujinon W 210mm f5,6- (Copal 1) Terry Thalmans' Fujinon site shows 310 mm
of coverage at infinity which is borderline. My question -has anyone used
this for 8x10 and found it works well with limited coverage or better or
maybe Fuji's specs are rather conservative? Would be a nice ...
Filter for the 200mm Grandagon29 Dec 2003 21:34 GMT1
Friends,
I have come to own a polarizing filter for the 200MM Grandagon.
I would like to use this for other lenses since I do not own a Grandagon.
I would buy adapters.

Burke & James flat bed extension 27 Dec 2003 09:50 GMT1
I have a B&J 8x10 flat bed wood camera which no longer has the rear
extension (not an uncommon problem).  Does anyone have any suggestions
as to where to look for one?  I wouldn't have a problem making one if
I can come up with the focusing racks/rails.  Does anyone know if B&J
360mm or 480mm  for 8x10 portraits27 Dec 2003 09:48 GMT12
If the 480 works out to be "only" 66mm on a 35mm camera, wouldn't that
be better for portraits with the 8x10. On 35, one usually uses 85-135
range. Why then use a 360 which is like a 50mm on a 35. There must be
something else going on that as a first time 8x10 user, I don't yet
tripod/head for 8x10 LF26 Dec 2003 18:13 GMT24
I have a question regarding tripod/head: I recently bought Cambo 8x10, and
while I expected it to be heavy, it's more then I though. The camera with
lighter lens attached is 22 pounds. I've been reseraching for a while, and
thought that from the currently available retail models I ...

Lens boards for Shen-Hao 4x5?26 Dec 2003 00:51 GMT3
I just returned from a vacation in China where I managed to pick up
a brand new Shen-Hao HZX45-AII.  Does the lens board adhere to any
particular standard or am I married to Shen-Hao for these?
TIA

warming filters KR1.5 and KR 3 24 Dec 2003 19:01 GMT2
It seems like B+W labels their warming filters differently.  Some are called
81A, B, or C, and others are KR 1.5 and KR3.
What would be the differences between these sets?
Is a KR 1.5 equivalent to an 81A, or is it an 81B, or are these not equivalent
Lens Cells22 Dec 2003 23:37 GMT5
Was skimming Surplus Shed yesterday and came across a Wollensak lens
cell set suitable for 8 x 10 and probably for mounting in a Rapax
shutter. PN 3060. Price was $50.00
"Unused beauties. Lens set consists of two mounted lens assemblies that
Busch Pressman Rangefinder?22 Dec 2003 20:17 GMT15
I have a pressman (model D) it has the hugo RF on it and the mirror is
very dim.  Is it possible to use a Kalart from a junk Graflex to
replace it, without too much trouble, or do I need a Kalart from
another Busch.  I like hand holding this camera with a fast shutter
First attempt at shooting at night with 4x5 ....I have no clue22 Dec 2003 02:27 GMT15
I live in a very rural area and thought I'd try to go down to the old
courthouse area and try my luck at shooting at around 1:00AM. The area is
softly lit with a few street lights and is just a picture perfect scene of
"Old Virginia". Well, to say the least I could not see a damn ...
