I'm having difficulty trying to figure out what the following lens is/was
used for.
The markings say:

Houghton-Butcher Popular Pressman09 Nov 2003 19:34 GMT1
How many format sizes was this camera made in?
It is a large format reflex, with a focal plane shutter.
If it is only one format - like 3 1/4 x 4 1/4, or whatever.
Has anybody an idea of what types of film holder are suitable.
Van Neck Press Camera09 Nov 2003 02:05 GMT2
Marked VN, London with Ross Xpress lens.
This is apparently 1/4 plate. What film holders will fit it?
Controlling contrast in contact print08 Nov 2003 23:37 GMT7

Thanks

12" Aero Ektar Shutter08 Nov 2003 14:43 GMT4
I've got a 12" Aero Ektar mounted in a very large General Electric
leaf shutter.  The shutter appears to work by a combination of
mechanical winding and electric release, but I'm not sure.  Does
anyone here have experience with a shutter like this, or knows someone
'proper' lens for Century One 8x1008 Nov 2003 06:36 GMT14
I'm putting a number of things away for posterity. Among them is a very
clean  Century 1 8x10 camera with lens (and film holders), which has a
horribly wrecked and defaced top-dial type shutter. I'd like it to be
complete. Can someone point me to a resource that shows the proper
Viewing Light07 Nov 2003 20:19 GMT8
I am interested in learning about what kind of room light members use for
viewing prints.  The best alternative to tungsten that I have found is the
Ott light, but what lights do you find acceptable for illuminating a room
that has framed and unframed prints on the walls?  Do you ...
Rx for wet lens07 Nov 2003 01:04 GMT4
A few days back I was out shooting in drizzle, and by the time I was
home I was down for the count  and sick as a dog. Today I'm back on my
feet and to my horror  a waft of mildew came from inside the pelican
case with my beloved  360 Siranor N . I pulled off the cells and the
Difference between Kodak and Fuji 64T????????06 Nov 2003 23:03 GMT10
Ok,
My Crown Graphic's shutter is finally working correctly (the
repair guy replaced the main spring, so now it works fine), and the
pictures really are great, both the 120 film and the 4x5.  Very

Loading 4x5 Film is Easy and FUN!!06 Nov 2003 08:26 GMT17
Haha!
My initial trepidation is quite laughable now!
It was a bit trying at times, but once i got the hang of it, it was
really fun!
View Camera Subscriber's Section06 Nov 2003 05:14 GMT2
There seems to be some confusion about our web page and the subscribers'
section so let me see if I can explain what we are doing.
Several months ago we revamped our web page to make it more user friendly. We
have continued having several articles in the free article section. These
epson scanners05 Nov 2003 16:09 GMT9
Not to long ago I decided to look into "going digital". In my case this
means film capture, scanning, and printing. I've decided on the Epson 2200
for my printer and am now looking for a scanner. For a while I was leaning
towards the Epson 1680. Recently I took notice of the Epson ...
