Image diameter ....?30 Nov 2003 23:14 GMT8
I can't find a reference on this, so am I thinking straight?  A 4x5
film, taking the longer dimension, is 5inches = 127mm.  So if  a lens
has an image diameter of 127mm or more it will cover 4x5, right?  And
the larger it is, the more movements permitted?  So on, say, a 75mm lens ...

Camera stores in Chicago30 Nov 2003 01:54 GMT12

like Darkroom Aids or A Camera (both now closed)?
Both of them were cornicopias of photo stuff...racks of used enlarger carriers,
odd parts, etc.....piles and piles of tchatchkes and weird old stuff.  Very
which camera for architecture ?30 Nov 2003 01:01 GMT7
I'm looking for a 4x5 for architecture and the usual outdoors artsy-fartsy
type stuff.  My priorities are reasonable - reasonable price, reasonable
weight, reasonable movements, reasonable convenience. I've trolled around
(that's not a bad thing if you're fishing by the way) ...
Expired sheet film question30 Nov 2003 00:46 GMT2
I have 4 boxes of 8 X 10 sheet film I came across that I had forgotten about
and had stored deep in the bowels of a closet for the past 5-6 years. 1 box
each of TMX 4052, TMY 4053, PRN 4329, and Fuji Provia 100 RDP II.
Expirations range from 10-97 to 3-99

What's a Sinar DB mount ? 29 Nov 2003 16:19 GMT3
I see lenses I would like to bid on on e-bay but they
are mounted in a Sinar DB mount. The close up photos
of this mount discourages me. I'm afraid it will
be  a  problem re-mounting the lens elsewhere.

Hi, I'm looking for a couple small parts for a Pacemaker Crown graphic

The first is a small metal piece that fits over the front edge of the
bed. When the bed is closed, the metal piece fits into a metal clip at
What's Your Focusing Technique???????28 Nov 2003 22:13 GMT3
Hey folks,
The seller for my Crown Graphic said that one should
focus at the largest aperture, or narrowest DOF, and then
set the aperture to where you need it for the shot.

This past week, materials testing has continued here at Atelier Butzi,
in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.
This week, I've been trying to find the answer to the question "Given

(It's a 75mm Hypergon Anastigmat.)
Notice the *fan* which can be swung in place over the center of the lens.
