Using Cinema Film, leaving Anti Halation backing30 Nov 2004 18:53 GMT15
I work as an assistant camerman (cinema), and recently started
experimenting with using some short ends of FUJI 35mm stock in my
still camera.
I developed the film in a lab, requesting to leave the backing to see
compression artefacts by film lab?30 Nov 2004 18:24 GMT3
I had a film developed and printed by an AGFA photolab and remarked an
artefact: a part of the picture was solid red, and it seemed to me like on
the edges of the red part artefacts were visible, similar to what you get
when doing JPEG-compression on digital images. Is it possible ...
snapfish can't read english29 Nov 2004 02:37 GMT2
Snapfish discount mail order film processing lab is terrible.
Absolutely no customer service. I sent 2 rolls for triple
prints and received single prints instead. I recommend you
do not use this company. It is better to use a local

place to get your negatives scanned24 Nov 2004 02:11 GMT1
Hi, I have a whole bunch of negatives which I'd like to get them
scanned and archived. I cannot afford a high end scanner, hence
looking to see if there is an affordable way of doing this? I live in
Toronto, but if an online agency does it, I am open to that too..
I need a ton of 120 processed and scanned... where?22 Nov 2004 22:51 GMT6
I live in Seattle and have 17 rolls of 120 (c-41,645) that I need
processed only and scanned to disk as large files (to make a 11x17
prints).  I am trying to be thrifty.
I know a friend who has a one hour lab in Texas that processes, scans
Kodachrome and X-pan?18 Nov 2004 15:50 GMT4
Has anyone here used Kodachrome in an X-pan? I am wondering if there is any
problem getting the film processed with the double length frames. When I've
used Kodachrome before it came with the pre-paid envelope and I can't
remember if there was any option for it to be left uncut.
Photo: Lighter band at the top of the picture16 Nov 2004 03:56 GMT1
I've just had to return a set of pictures to a supermarket 1 hour
service.
A number of the pictures have a lighter (contrast) band across the top
of the picture, about 5mm deep. What could be casuing this? I thought
Blue cast in Slides?11 Nov 2004 03:12 GMT2
I've taken pictures outdoor with Velvia 100F. The slides have been
developed and then left in luggage to travel in Europe. Once arrived
in Europe, I've tried to see them with my daylight balanced jessops
slide viewer, and they are simply perfect. So I asked few enlargements
Velvia 50 discontinued?10 Nov 2004 23:59 GMT19
I heard that Velvia 50 will be discontinued but Fuji is putting out
another film to replace it. Is there any word on this? If so, what film
is replacing it and what is it like? I don't know if it is rumor?

Polaroid 35mm film at Wal-Mart07 Nov 2004 18:44 GMT5
Wal-Mart sells some 35mm film made by Agfa that they call Polaroid.
This is similar to Walgreens selling Agfa Vista and calling it Studio
35, which I have used.  The problem is that Studio 35 sells for 3
dollars and change for a 24 roll, while Polaroid sells for 97 cents a
which online shops for ilford bw films?06 Nov 2004 08:30 GMT3
i don't know how long ilford economic problems will go on and if
they'll ever find some other company/ies wishing to buy ilford, but
the (sad) fact is that everyday it's becoming harder and harder to
find ilford bw films here in italy.
Kodak films made in China05 Nov 2004 01:20 GMT1
I've noticed not only the 100 speed, but also the 200 and 400 speed
films that Kodak sells in bulk are marked 'made in China'.

Film Expiry Dates02 Nov 2004 13:28 GMT3
I've just come across a load of film (7 rolls in fact) of Fuji Superia
that have been knocking round for a while.
The expiry date on the carton is August 04, will they still be ok to use
or am I better off binning the lot?  If they are still going to be ok to
