Is there an FAQ for setting up a Photo Lab ?28 Mar 2004 06:59 GMT1
Can anybody please tell me if there is an FAQ, document, book, or
website out there that explains the basics of setting up a 1-hour Photo
Lab from scratch and/or the cost analysis for such a lab (ignoring the
cost of the premises and of labour).  Text that also discuss the
Salvaging Old Negatives26 Mar 2004 03:22 GMT11
I hope this is the right newgroup for this question. I have hundreds of
negatives from 1940 and older that I purchased at a local auction. Some of
the loose ones are of great local historical interest. Trouble is many of
the negatives are stuck together, almost like they are melted. ...

E6 100asa push processing advice please19 Mar 2004 04:20 GMT4
Can any one suggest an E6 100 asa film which is well suited to pushing to
400. Or alternatively is it better to push a 200asa film just one stop?
In previous posts E100 was always highly recommended were a big push was
needed however this is no longer available, having been replaced ...
Forte film17 Mar 2004 20:09 GMT8
How do people generally feel about Forte film around here?
I have not seen any mention of it on this group for the last couple of
months.  If it is already been mentioned and discussed to death then I
apologize.  Maybe someone could point me to a faq.

Tokina 80-400 II13 Mar 2004 17:39 GMT1
Could you please give your opinions on the Tokina 80-400 II  lens for a
serious armature. I can't afford the Canon 100-400 or the Sigma 80-400 image
stabilized lenses. The other lenses I am looking at is the Sigma 70-300 APO
macro, Tamron 70-300 LD macro, Tokina 24-200, Tamron and ...
Kodak Ultra Color 100 (100UC)12 Mar 2004 12:36 GMT1
Has anyone had the chance to use this stuff yet? I see its filtering into
stores now and B&H lists it in stock. Can you give some opinions on it, or
show some scans? What Kodak film does this look comparable to? Does it seem
to be based off of Pro 100 (PRN), Royal Gold 100/ Ektar ...
800 speed B&W film?12 Mar 2004 01:09 GMT11
Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough, or it may be the confusing
labeling (P3200?), but I'm having trouble finding an 800 speed black
and white film.  Does such a thing exist?  Thanks.

handling film (gloves)09 Mar 2004 06:39 GMT1
The other day I was chatting with the agent at a local one-hour photo
lab (they use Noritsu 3011s IIRC). During the course of the chat, she
mentioned that Kodak sends them gloves and instructs them to wear those
gloves while handling film. She showed me the gloves, they are white ...
Developing TP 2415 shot 20 years ago?09 Mar 2004 06:37 GMT8
I found some very old rolls of film today that were exposed but never
developed.  The first is a roll of Kodak Technical Pan 2415 (TP 135-36) and
the other is a 110 canister of Fujicolor 200.
The Fujicolor 200 is probably about eight or ten years old and was probably

Kodak 3200 ?08 Mar 2004 22:33 GMT1
I happen to be fortunate enough to be given a few rolls of Kodak 3200
film.  I want to use this film to shoot some local bands here in NYC.
Considering they will all be inside at dark venues, I figured this
film would be great.  I want to use this film with my Olympus Stylus
