In early October I mailed in one film, and according to Kodak's Web site,
Slide development and scannig in San Francisco?31 Oct 2003 19:07 GMT1
Does anybody know a good place with fast service in San Francisco, where
you can get slide films  prosessed (E-6) and scanned to files (on CD) with
high resolution and good quality?
Is there such service? Does anybody know how much this kind of services
(newbie) What film most accurately reflects what we see?29 Oct 2003 00:56 GMT16
I have been doing some reading about film on the internet and have a
question about what kind of film does one get if they want the most
accurate reproduction what we see through the SLR.
I currently use Fujicolor Superia 100, and have been told to look into
Processing Kodachrome 6426 Oct 2003 01:55 GMT15
This weekend I shot a roll of Kodachrome 64. No other slide film was
available at the store I was at, expect for Ektachrome 400. No way I'm
shooting that speed of film, especially outdoors in bright sunlight.
Anyway now I have a roll of Kodachrome 64 to get developed. I live in
Portra 100T - contast ?25 Oct 2003 04:30 GMT5
I have searched the web and come up with all kinds of data/specs on the
product  but no info specificically on whether 100T is a LOW contrast film
or not ? Or perhaps what it is most comparable or similar to. Is it for
example similar to Portra 160NC ?
Filters, Resin vs. Ployester, and Portra Films, for Copying Slides23 Oct 2003 20:02 GMT1
I plan on buying a 3x3" 85B filter for my Illumitran copier, and wonder
whether there's any reason for choosing a polyester vs. a resin filter
for same. Prices are close, neither will be used in front of a lens.
For the copier, I've made numerous copies of a calibration slide at
"Investors seek to rewind Kodak" -- WSJ23 Oct 2003 06:05 GMT5
We were talking about the future of Kodak recently...
The Wall Street Journal reports that a group of large investors is
pressuring Kodak to abandon the recently announced plans to shift heavily
toward digital technology and products.  They contend that film is still

Film life22 Oct 2003 15:26 GMT12
what are the real chances of film being overtaken by digital technology?
Will B&W film always be available?
I hope it keeps going in all sizes but don't know what the manufacturers are
doing. I hear that some companies such as Kodak and Richo will no longer
5 Megapixels vs Velvia vs Kodachrome + Microscope Views22 Oct 2003 11:56 GMT14
I just found this newsgroup - never been here before. I thought someone
here might be interested in seeing my comparison between 5 megapixels,
Velvia, Kodachrome (and also Portra 160NC and Kodak Gold 200). I also took
some pictures through a microscope:
Wallet size prints22 Oct 2003 05:02 GMT1
What lab makes wallet size prints with rounded corners from a digital
image... I'm selling a senior package btw.
How long is enough?22 Oct 2003 00:57 GMT1
I'm wondering if there is an accepted time limit for keeping a
customer's original film before a company can ask for it to be either
picked up or it will be tossed out?
In our case, there was no specified limit on the order form so are we
Effect of pushing E200 on saturation22 Oct 2003 00:07 GMT16
I feel Kodak E200 slightly less saturated.
If I push Kodak E200 by one stop, does it improove the saturation.
Thanks
Ramesh
