which film?31 Aug 2003 21:26 GMT5
This is my first post here and i have a question.
I'm an  amateur in field of photography and sadly don't have the time to
increase my knowledge of it.
I am going to Tunisia this month and I'm bringing my Minolta 2xi dynax with
Stepchild of Mystic Lab31 Aug 2003 04:22 GMT1
I heard a news item yesterday, that I summarize as follows.
Last December, the Swiss parent corporation of Mystic Labs closed the
company, putting 122 people out of work.  On August 29th, the former CEO
of Mystic and seven other former employees opened ABC Photo in Mystic,
Scanning Negatives/Slides in NYC28 Aug 2003 17:06 GMT1
Had a bad experience with a "professional" lab today-- work done late,
incorrectly, not as promised/expected, and extremely disorganized.  I don't
want to go into details or trash anyone so I won't name the place, but
here's what I'm looking for:
Neopan B/W C-41 process film27 Aug 2003 14:50 GMT2
Designed and made in a partnership between Fuji and Ilford. Supposedly a cross
between XP-2 and Neopan 400. Has anyone used it yet? If so, what do you think
of it? I really like the two emulsions, so I am quite anxious to try it.
Thanks

Any tips on who to choose from the high street to get good quality

Mini-lab to memory card22 Aug 2003 16:22 GMT2
Is it possible for these labs to scan to memory card?  Are the options to
do this obvious or at least documented with the equipment?  Many minilabs
now scan to cdrom, and they can read from memory cards (for printing), so
it would seem like it should be possible.
Looking for original Minolta-16 cassettes21 Aug 2003 04:43 GMT2

Comparative sharpness of E100G, E100VS, K200, etc.18 Aug 2003 03:23 GMT5
Further to some recent discussion that E100G is less sharp (has less
acutance) than E100VS even though it's also finer-grained, here are some
numbers.
The "sharpness" number is the MTF at 40 cycles/mm for the green layer.  E200
E100G and E100GX results?18 Aug 2003 00:59 GMT13
Any opinions about these new films?
I'm about to try E100GX for astrophotography.  According to the data sheet,
it has almost no reciprocity failure, and it has a sharp peak at 650 nm,
which means it should pick up nebulae well.

Films with 2 pins dx-code in P&S14 Aug 2003 22:31 GMT5
My camera has 2 pins for 2 and 4 areas. What films I can use?
Some one told that ISO 200 film my camera gets as 100 (overexpose?);
400 as 400. TRUE?!
I saw the table of codes and think that my camera -
Is this a good scanner ?14 Aug 2003 14:12 GMT1
I have never ever used a scanner for anything. However I am interested
in learning how to scan my colour negatives and slides. Obviously I
need a
computer (which I have ) and a scanner, which I don't have, so I am
Portra Uses14 Aug 2003 01:31 GMT3
I am interested in trying out Portra Film, and I was wondering if it was useful
for anything but portrait work. I do a lot of "all around" work(some portraits,
some travel, etc), nothing professional, and it would be nice to have a line of
film in different speeds with the same look ...
